SHOOTERS in The Building:
Stephen Quinn Stephen Quinn 6'2" | SG Westminster Catawba | 2024 State SC is back in the Hoop State at Moravian Prep. Quinn a sharp-shooting guard from Fort Mill, SC originally is running with Team Charlotte UAA 17U. He looked flawless today with his shot while dropping 5 deep-range three performers in a win. Quinn and his teammates at Moravian Prep relocated back to the Hoop State recently after playing in Georgia this past season.
Teammate Santana Lynch Santana Lynch 6'4" | SG Lake Norman | 2024 State NC gives Team Charlotte UAA 17U another deep threat from behind the arc. Lynch who attends Myers Park HS has already gathered interest from the likes of Western Carolina University and Radford. Santana has a sweet stroke and nice shot release from downtown.
Team Synergy Duo Make That Trio Play Well:
Evan Morton Evan Morton 6'2" | CG Moravian Prep | 2024 State NC and Delani Hammonds Delani Hammonds 6'0" | CG Ardrey Kell | 2024 State NC really makes the offense go for this Team Synergy squad. Morton was great all weekend long with his play. Evan was able to score the ball from all 3 levels all weekend long. Morton does a nice job of switching hands and racing by defenders on the way to the cup. He really looks to take and make tough shots while showing a great deal of confidence in return.
Morton finished with 20 points in a opening round win.
Hammonds a point guard was able to get downhill to the cup and touch the paint every time he wanted today. Delani will penetrate-kick to a open teammate or simply just finish at the rim with a bucket. He did a nice job of using his hands to fight off defenders on the way to the rack.
This duo for Team Synergy is fun to watch along with a up and coming 2025 kid in Myles Smith Myles Smith 6'3" | CG Victory Christian | 2025 State NC . Smith who attends Victory Christian plays the game extremely aggressive from the backcourt. Myles connected on the 3-ball at times and never showed any hesitation jumping on the floor for a loose ball. Smith dropped 17 points in a opening round win.
New Big Town:
Ebrima Jabbi Ebrima Jabbi 6'10" | C Combine Academy | 2024 State NC has only been in the United States for the past few months he told Prep Hoops. Jabbi a post player from Gambia, Africa attends Combine Academy. Ibrami a true post player keeps the ball up high after claiming it off glass every time. He tends to have a soft touch around rim with a good set of hands. Jabbi will work from block to block with his back to the back to the basket.
Ibrami had 10 points and 16 rebounds in the game Prep Hoops watched him play here this weekend at the Phenom Grassroots TOC.
Team Swish Wins:
Team Swish based out of the Western North Carolina is coached by Lee Scruggs. Devin Brafford Devin Brafford 7'0" Phhoenix Prep | 2024 State AZ , Zach Skogen Zach Skogen 6'5" | SF Murphy | 2024 State NC , Ashton Dillon Ashton Dillon 6'2" | PG Veritas Christian Academy | 2024 State NC and William Otto William Otto 6'4" | CG Greensboro Day | 2024 State NC all played well here today for Team Swish . Brafford a very slender forward attends Rabun Gap (GA) across the border in the Northwest corner of the state of Georgia. Brafford is originally from Waynesville, NC. and his brother Nate attends Georgia Southern University.
Brafford glides all over the floor and currently stands at 7’0 tall. Devin a stretch forward type can step-out for a short jumper or two like he did today. He has an incredible wingspan to alter and challenge shots at times on the defensive end.
Skogen plays at Murphy HS in Western North Carolina where he was named Conference MVP while averaging 14 ppg and 10.8 rebounds this season. Zach pops off screens for open looks especially from behind the arc. Skogen is a bit of a deceptive athlete at times on the floor.
Dillon was all over the floor barking instructions and staying in communications with his teammates. Ashton plays at Veritas Christian where he averaged 17.9 ppg, 7.5 rebounds and 4.3 assists this past season. He plays the game from the backcourt with a lot of energy. The left-handed Dillon was constantly involved in plays today on both ends of the court.
Otto a point guard from Greensboro Day School was rock solid this past weekend with his play. Otto has good court vision and can really setup his teammates well on the offensive end with his decision-making skills. William plays at a nice even keel at all-times on the floor and never seems to be rattled. He really has good size from out top and he understands on how to win games.
