He has all of the characteristics you would want from a point guard. He plays with a high IQ and great vision, takes very smart shots, has excellent ball security, and is comfortable under pressure. Johnson can certainly score the rock too, as I said, his shot selection is superb which makes him an efficient scorer. He shoots the 3 with confidence and you'll have a tough time finding someone who is as deadly with the floater as Johnson. He has a knack for getting in the paint and once there, he uses his ability to maneuver around the trees to find the open man. He shoots the long ball with good rhythm and has good rotation on his shot. After knocking down a couple of triples, he'll blow by the close-out and beat you off the dribble with a pretty hesitation move. When he's in and around the paint, he is a crafty finisher. May has a legitimate jump shot and shoots above his head. This gives him an advantage as a scorer as he is able to rise up and shoot over the top of the defense. He is a quick guard and does really well controlling the tempo for his team. One of the things that impressed me most about May was his poise. He was a lead guard for his team as they faced a full-court 1-3-1 press. It wasn't until he took his first jump shot that I realized he was right-handed. This goes to show just how strong his left hand is and how comfortable he is going both ways. Swift is a gifted scorer and gets his buckets from all three levels. Something that he does at the rim that is impressive is keeping the ball above his head. This helps him finish through contact and draw fouls. He thrives in transition and because of this, he loves turning defense to offense. His hands and feet are always active as a defender and he has solid rotations too. He's a solid ball-handler at his size and his long strides help him beat defenders off the dribble. I really like his efforts on the glass too. His team is full of scorers so being able to impact the game in other ways is important and Fonville does just that. This isn't meant to discredit his scoring capabilities as they're up there with the best. This is a nod of appreciation to a player who understands basketball has many sides. Another skillset that makes Fonville hard to guard is his ability to score in the low-post. He takes advantage of smaller defenders and can beat you with either his back-to-the-basket or in a face-up situation. Because of this, the defense cannot leave him open from anywhere on the flo0r. This helps his team with spacing as they face one less help-defender. As a facilitator, he does a nice job or probing the lane and drawing the help before kicking it out to the teammate.
