Walker Valley – Polk County Evaluations

Halfway through February hosted the Polk County Wildcats and Dakota Sanford Dakota Sanford 5'10" | SG Polk County | 2023 State TN (pictured above).

The game involved many potential college basketball players. First, read a smidgen about the game itself and then observe each player's ideal college level.

Tayvon Barber Tayvon Barber 5'10" | PG Walker Valley | 2023 State TN broke baseline and scooped an underhanded pass to his #21 partner. The play showed off what Barber has always done well, erode defensive integrity via the dribble.

Brett Jordan Brett Jordan 6'2" | SG Walker Valley | 2024 State TN 's lower-body shot preparation looked identical every single shot. He did not have a speed burst to separate in the open floor though, which limited his effectiveness on run-outs. Jordan looks like a potential D3 player, sturdy, capable, confident, physically strong, good offensive awareness.

Caleb Sausville's shooting range was introduced with a fantastically deep early second quarter attempt. The lofted chance was bathed in net.

Noah Shaw was hungry around the rim. He chased down many offensive rebounds, securing some of them. At 6-foot-2 he is servicable as a high school center, of course woefully undersized for the same position at the next level. Shaw is scrappy and impactful, especially against Walker Valley. He could have used more help when defending under the rim, where Polk County's Wildcats suffered.

Tucker Patterson Tucker Patterson 6'1" | SG Polk County | 2023 State TN took many first quarter shots, a few of them hurried. His best attempt was his first, as the nimble combo guard cut to the rim from the left-hand side, adeptly scooped up a right hand layup while evading a help defender. Patterson's shooting touch is historically impressive, though a couple of his first quarter shots missed. It is likely that his misses occurred because his body leaned slightly as he released. Exceptional free throw shooter.

Patterson's speed with the basketball was nice. he cut through the Walker Valley defense when he was able to initiate fast breaks. Patterson is a versatile scorer. He looked to score from all three levels, and projects as a guard with the ability to score in volume at the small college level.

Dakota Sanford Dakota Sanford 5'10" | SG Polk County | 2023 State TN and Kolton Casson hit back-to-back three-pointers in the second quarter, both in rhythm. Dakota's shooting range and consistent form helped push the Wildcats into a second quarter lead.
