SAN DIEGO - The annual Battle at the Bay showcase hosted by Mission Bay High and head coach Marshawn Cherry is one of the best one-day events in the San Diego area and allows for fans, media and scouts to see some of the area's top teams and players go head-to-head against one another. I was in attendance for six of the seven games on Saturday and below I break down the best shooters from the event.

[player_tooltip player_id='994912' first='Christian' last='Brown'], La Costa Canyon

While La Costa Canyon might have been outmanned across the board as far as size and athleticism go, the Mavericks hung tough with Rancho Christian thanks in large part to the shooting of senior forward [player_tooltip player_id='994912' first='Christian' last='Brown']. The 6-foot-5 wing was hot from the jump as he knocked down three first quarter 3-pointers and scored 11 points in the opening period. Brown flashed his quick release and multiple spot consistency to the tune of five total three's and a game-high 26 points in the loss to Rancho Christian.

Drew Bickley, Santa Fe Christian

Bickley is the definition of a guy you want to run off the line as he is in the mold of a "knockdown" shooter off the catch and really effective when coming off of screens, needing only a tiny bit of space to get off a clean look. The 6-foot-1 lefty showed his unlimited range and ability to get hot in a hurry as he drained five triples in the first half and knocked down two more in the second half. Bickley's game-high 26 points with seven 3-pointers were crucial to the Eagles pulling off a one-point victory over Montgomery in one of the more exciting finishes of the day.

Isaiah Marte, San Diego

You know a kid is a shooter when the opposing coaching staff consistently reminds its players of his presence on the floor and that's what the Torrey Pines staff did with San Diego High's Marte. The 5-foot-11 sophomore was a lethal threat off the catch and all of the Cavers guards were looking to set him up on drive-and-kick opportunities. Marte finished with 12 points in the loss to Torrey Pines, all of those points coming from behind-the-arc.

[player_tooltip player_id='994909' first='JJ' last='Bartelloni'], Torrey Pines

Bartelloni turned in the performance of the event as he scored 32 points in a 62-54 win over San Diego and knocked down seven 3-pointers, six of those in the first half. The 6-foot-5 senior guard/forward saw his first triple of the game drop through the net and didn't hesitate to keep shooting after that. Bartelloni found himself open far more often than he probably has all season long and he took advantage of the time and space by shooting his team to a win.

[player_tooltip player_id='994935' first='Ty' last='Hendler'], La Costa Canyon

Hendler didn't match his teammate, [player_tooltip player_id='994912' first='Christian' last='Brown'], shot-for-shot, but had an impressive shooting performance nonetheless. The 6-foot-3 combo guard knocked down four 3-pointers in LCC's loss to Rancho Christian and did so both off the catch and off the dribble. Hendler showed great balance and lift on jumper off the bounce.
