A busy several weeks of rankings updates culminated at Prep Hoops Indiana headquarters on Monday afternoon with the release of our Class of 2023 Prospect Rankings. There were several changes within our Top 200 prospects including several new names to the rankings and other players who saw large jumps. We also still have an additional Watch List of over 100 prospects who deserve recognition around the state of Indiana. In this article we will be taking a look at part one of a two-part series highlighting the top stock-risers in the recent rankings update.

[player_tooltip player_id='1273049' first='Landon' last='Biegel'] (Oak Hill H.S.): It has never been a secret that Biegel was one of the best shooters in the state. However, he has continued to really expanded his game and is now playing like one of the better pure scorers in the class. The 6'4" wing is still shooting 42% from three-point range, but he is also 55% overall from the field while averaging 23.4 points per game on a 14-2 Oak Hill squad that is ranked in the Top 10 of Class 3A. Indiana Wesleyan has themselves a bucket-getter. Biegel jumped 10 spots from #41 to #31 in the class.

[player_tooltip player_id='1160716' first='Clay' last='Butler'] (Ben Davis H.S.): Quite simply, Butler has emerged as one of the best guards in the state of Indiana. He is the third-leading scorer averaging right around 10 points per game for a 22-0 Ben Davis team that is one of the best in the country. This 6'0" point guard is incredibly athletic, one of the best finishers in the class with both hands at the rim, and can really stroke it from beyond the arc. He has incredibly efficiency on good volume shooting 51% from the field and 48% from beyond the arc. Butler has signed with Lincoln University in Missouri who got an absolute steal. The dynamic playmaker saw his ranking improve from #58 to #25.

[player_tooltip player_id='1273741' first='DaJohn' last='Craig'] (Lawrence Central H.S.): Craig has broken out as one of the premier scoring threats in the Indianapolis area this season. Most importantly, his playmaking ability has translated to winning for a Lawrence Central team that is 12-7. The 6'1" guard is averaging 18.6 points per game with the ability to score it from anywhere on the floor. He is a very good three-pointer shooter, has showed off a solid mid-range game, and has explosive athleticism to finish up around the rim. Craig jumped 30 spots from #65 to #35 in our rankings update.

[player_tooltip player_id='1049173' first='Ben' last='Henderson'] (Harrison H.S.): This Marian University signee has Harrison (West Lafayette) sitting with 15-3 record while averaging 21.9 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 3.2 assists per game for the Raiders. The 6'3" guard is a pure scorer in ever since of the word. He can play both on and off the ball, has a very smooth outside shot, and possesses the size to finish through contact inside. Putting together a fantastic season which helped him jump from #63 to #37 in our prospect rankings.

[player_tooltip player_id='1410467' first='Alex' last='Romack'] (Westfield H.S.): Not many prospects have done more for themselves since the end of the summer until now. Romack has become one of the best unsigned prospects in the state of Indiana, especially for any program needing a forward. At 6'6" with great length, mobility, and athleticism, the Westfield product is an outstanding rebounder. He averages 15.3 points and 9.8 rebounds with some impressive versatility on both ends of the floor. Romack is now ranked #29, up from #45 previously. Should be a no-brainer for NAIA programs looking for some size and there definitely are Division II schools that could get involved.

[player_tooltip player_id='1042496' first='Gage' last='Sefton'] (Blackhawk Christian): This Grace College signee has put together a senior season that will get him in serious Indiana All-Star conversations. Sefton is arguably the best senior prospect in the Fort Wayne area, averages 16.8 points and 5.8 assists, and has the Blackhawk Christian Braves in position to be a favorite come state tournament time in Class 2A. He is an outstanding shot-maker in the half court and is a very underrated passer. Sefton jumped from #39 to #26 in this rankings update.
