The game started off with a bang as [player_tooltip player_id='814513' first='Ben' last='Egbo'] set it off with a two handed dunk that sent the crowd into a frenzy. The first quarter was pretty even as Perry had a 17-12 lead at the end of the first quarter. The 2nd quarter was pretty much the same but Perry's half court defense was causing Basha to use most of the shot clock on multiple possessions. Perry extended the lead to 30-17 with a little under 4 minutes left in the 2nd quarter. Basha ended the quarter on a 9-2 run to bring them within 6 going into the half 32-26.

In the 3rd quarter Basha started picking up their defensive pressure cutting the lead to 34-31. In a quarter that had a bunch of fouls called it ended with Perry holding on to a 41-35 lead. In the fourth quarter Perry began to extend the lead building it up to as much as 49-35 with a little under 5 minutes left in the game. Basha was able to cut it down to a 9 point deficit with less than 2 minutes left in the game. After hitting some free throws to seal the win Perry ended with the 62-51 win.

Here are a few of the standout players from this battle

[player_tooltip player_id='831114' first='Cody' last='Williams'] Perry

The McDonald's All American was as advertised as he impacted the game in every phase of the game. He was the primary ball handler for the Pumas as usual and impacted the game on offense as well as defense. He sacrificed his offense to keep his teammates involved in the game. On the defensive end he blocked multiple perimeter shots using his length to close out on the shooter quicker than the average player.

[player_tooltip player_id='1323290' first='Mason' last='Magee'] Basha

The frosh ran the show the majority of the game for the Bears at a high level. Even with Perry's length Mason consistently attacked the interior defense in a effort to set up his teammates. Mase showed off his ever improving shooting by hit multiple mid range jumpers.

[player_tooltip player_id='1129193' first='Koa' last='Peat'] Perry

A man amongst boys is what it seemed like. On the offensive end Koa was in attack mode as usual but in this game it was the other parts of his game that stood out. He was rebounding as if he was the only player on the court and he blocked so many shots I lost count. On one particular block it looked like he had to move his head away from the rim in order to avoid hitting it. A top-10 National talent in the 2025 class.

[player_tooltip player_id='1064158' first='Christian' last='Warren'] Basha

The junior wing was the catalyst in keeping Basha close throughout the game. He hit multiple contested three's in the first half. He showed a beautiful touch from the perimeter. On the defensive end he battled hard and wasn't afraid to throw his body around despite getting in early foul trouble.

[player_tooltip player_id='814513' first='Ben' last='Egbo'] Perry

The athletic wing showed off his athleticism on multiple dunks and steals on the defensive end. He showed excellent court awareness and instincts. He brings the type of intangibles to the court that college coaches love.

[player_tooltip player_id='1120889' first='Torin' last='Bosch'] Basha

Bosch showed that he's as tough as they come in the AIA. He battled the taller Pumas all game and showed off some nice footwork on offense. He showed that he can get his shot off on pretty much anyone with a variety of moves.
