has committed to Lees-McRae College in Banner Elk, N.C. The Bobcat’s compete in the Division II Conference Carolinas, which features a host of universities in the Southeast. Patterson, a 6’3″ combo guard known who is an elite scoring threat, should fit right in with what head coach Steve Hardin envisions the future of his backcourt to look like.

is a physical guard who prides himself on his ability to score the basketball. In 2024-2025 he is averaging over 28 ppg while shooting 54 percent from the field. Patterson is an elite driver who can finish through contact and make plays. He’s got an elite handle that allows him to get to his spots and create options for himself and his teammates. His athleticism and size allow him to compete on the glass for rebounds and push the pace out in transition. Patterson is an underrated defender who plays with physicality and motor while guarding.
Time will tell just how much run Patterson will get his first few games at the college level, but this is a prospect who I know Lees-McRae is excited about. Steve Hardin and his staff just landed a Russel Westbrook-like guard who will be ready to go from day one.

Patterson has West Caldwell High off to a 5-1 start leading the backcourt attack. He’s produced 26.8 PPG, 9.3 RPG, 3.2 SPG and 2.3 APG in showing he can turn steals into easy offense just as well as his ability to rebound the basketball. He’s an electric 6-foot-1 guard that DI and DII programs in the region should get eyes on this season.

is a defensive-minded combo guard to get to know in the 2A Catawba Valley Conference. They went unbeaten at 13-0 and made it to the third round of the 2A NCHSAA State Playoffs before falling by just five points to Salisbury High. Patterson returns looking for vengeance after producing 16.1 PPG, 5.4 RPG, 2.7 SPG and 2.6 APG as a sophomore presence in the varsity rotation. DII programs in the region would be wise to get eyes on him. He’s a sizeable guard with a knack for rebounding the ball and utilizing his length/athleticism in a variety of ways. He’s a prospect for DI and DII programs in the region to put on their radar this season at West Caldwell High.

Patterson was doing everything he wanted to this afternoon for his NLPB group, showing off impressive athleticism all game long. He’s got great lateral shiftiness and pace that makes defenders always play on their back heels, and causes lanes to open up for him both as a driver and passer. He took his opportunities well, getting creative under the rim and really making the defense work hard to get him to pass out. He can shoot it solidly and makes the defense have to play up, further opening up his ability to attack the paint. I really liked what he can do as a big point guard in an offense, and should start to have more suitors in his recruitment after the live period.

is a name that’s climbing up the radar in the 2025 class in North Carolina. He’s a 6-foot-3 point guard that’s shown he can rebound in bunches, make things happen in space and lead his squad to victory, coming off a 26-3, 14-0 conference record in his sophomore high school season. He looks ready to turn a corner after posting 16.4 ppg, 5.4 rpg, 2.7 spg and 2.6 apg in 2022-23 with West Caldwell High. He’s a menacing guard that knows how to impact the game on both ends of the floor. DII programs in the region should take notice.
