We recently updated our senior class rankings in the state of VA, and we will take a look at each positional ranking from guards, wings and forwards. Obviously some of these players are positionless players that can fit in multiple spots, but we did our best to categorize them based on their skillset.

Here's a look at part one of our rankings for shooting guards and small forwards in the new rankings.

25) [player_tooltip player_id='1483027' first='Sam' last='Whitehead'] | 6'3” SG | Stonebridge (#54 Overall)

Whitehead has been a big reason that Stonebridge has been one of the top teams in the NOVA area over the past few years, and the 6'3” shooting guard does a little bit of everything for his team. The two sport star is a good athlete who plays with a good motor, he can make shots from multiple levels both on and off the ball and he's a good defender and rebounder for his position too.

24) [player_tooltip player_id='957028' first='Bryson' last='Wilson'] | 6'5” SF | St. Stephen's St. Agnes (#53 Overall)

Wilson is one of the most improved players over the past few years and still has a lot of room to get better moving forward with his size and athleticism giving him a very high ceiling when it's all said and done He has great physical tools, he's a super explosive athlete who thrives in transition and when he can get downhill going toward the basket and he has a ton of untapped potential defensively too.

23) [player_tooltip player_id='1505109' first='Seth' last='Langford'] | 6'3” SF | Wakefield (#52 Overall)

Langford is the definition of a blue collar, two way impact wing as he brings all of the right intangibles to his team and makes winning plays on both ends of the floor. He has a great frame as he's strong and long enough to finish around the rim, he's an excellent defender who jumps passing lanes and takes charges consistently and he is a good rebounder and passer as well.

22) [player_tooltip player_id='1483010' first='Quint' last='Booker'] | 6'3” SG | Bishop Ireton (#50 Overall)

Booker has quickly rose the rankings since debuting this summer and has become one of the top scoring guards in the WCAC this season. At 6'3” he has a strong physical frame that allows him to get downhill and finish around the rim, he's excellent at creating space off the bounce and can hit tough shots from multiple levels and he's a knock down shooter from deep who can get hot quickly and fill it up in bunches.

21) [player_tooltip player_id='962796' first='Nate' last='Pabis'] | 6'5” SF | Flint Hill (#48 Overall)

Pabis has shown over the past few years that he's one of the top shooters in the NOVA area, and he's become more and more consistent as he's continued to grow into his game. The Amherst College commit has terrific size to be able to raise up and knock down shots with little to no room, he can put it on the deck and is an underrated finisher and he is very smart and makes the right play consistently on both ends of the floor.

20) [player_tooltip player_id='1232157' first='CJ' last='McPherson'] | 6'3” SG | Catholic (#43 Overall)

McPherson transferred to Catholic from Norfolk Collegiate this year and he's having a huge season for them and is a big reason they're sitting at 18-2 with a chance to make a deep run in the VISAA D1 tournament this year. The 6'3” two guard is strong as an ox and uses it to rebound and make plays defensively, he plays with a good motor and he's shown he can score the ball efficiently from multiple levels.

19) [player_tooltip player_id='999657' first='Matin' last='Perdue'] | 6'4” SF | Broad Run (#41 Overall)

Perdue is another one of the top shooters in the state and has done so for Broad Run for years now, and his senior season he's putting up big numbers consistently. The 6'4 wing works relentlessly off the ball to get open and can get his feet set quickly to make shots on the move, he has effortless range and a quick release and he's a high volume shooter who is still consistently over 40% from deep.

18) [player_tooltip player_id='1483035' first='Camden' last='Brewer'] | 6'3” SG | Blue Ridge (#36 Overall)

Brewer is the senior leader for this Blue Ridge team that has played some of the best competition in the state, and while he's known as a knock down shooter he does so much more for his team. He can handle the ball and initiate the offense or work off the ball to get open, he scores it efficiently from multiple levels and he's a high IQ player who makes smart plays for his team on both ends of the floor.

17) [player_tooltip player_id='999654' first='Kameron' last='Roberts'] | 6'6” SF | Hargrave (#35 Overall)

Roberts has been at Hargrave the last few years and is the sixth man for their post grad team that is considered by many as the top in the country this year. The Citadel commit is a versatile player who can play all over the floor for them, he is a good athlete who can get downhill and finish at or above the rim and is capable of guarding multiple positions and he can knock down shots from multiple levels too.

16) [player_tooltip player_id='1748192' first='Skyler' last='Smith'] | 6'4” SG | Colgan (#34 Overall)

Smith took a big jump in the updated rankings after he's grown both physically and within his game, and he's putting up huge numbers for a Colgan team that has surprised a lot of people this year. The 6'4” wing is a prolific scorer who can fill it up in a number of different ways, he knocks down shots consistently from deep and in the midrange and he's a confident scorer who can get hot and fill it up in bunches.

We recently updated our senior class rankings in the state of VA, and we will take a look at each positional ranking from guards, wings and forwards. Obviously some of these players are positionless players that can fit in multiple spots, but we did our best to categorize them based on their skillset.
