The Chance Harman Classic returned to SWVA again this year, and as always it is one of my favorite events of the season. The annual event at Floyd County to raise money for cancer research always is a mix of some of the top teams in the western part of the state, as well as some of the top teams nationally in the region. There were a lot of standouts, so we will break them up and we take a look at part four here.

[player_tooltip player_id='1403957' first='Lawrence' last='Cole'] | 6'2” PG | Northside 2023

Cole is the senior leader on this young but very talented Northside team, and he was very good in their win over EC Glass in this one. The 6'2” lead guard is an athletic and physical guard who can get downhill and out in transition and play above the rim, he broke down defenders and got in the lane and defensively he was very good guarding the ball and staying in help side.

[player_tooltip player_id='1494115' first='Cy' last='Hardy'] | 5'10” PG | Northside 2025

Hardy is the breakout player in the Roanoke area, and he showed that in their win over Glass as he went for 20 points and showed his ability to score it in different ways. He's shifty off the bounce and plays at a different cadence allowing him to create space and get in the lane, he knocked down shots from multiple levels and he moves well off the ball to get open and get good looks.

Mykhell Harvey | 6'2” WF | Northside 2025

Harvey is another young talent on Northside who is looking better and better every day, and he brings them a lot of versatility on the wing. He's a good athlete who thrives in transition with his finishing ability, he can make shots and put it on the deck on the wing and he is a versatile defender who can guard multiple positions.

[player_tooltip player_id='999634' first='Kaiden' last='Swortzel'] | 6'4” PF | Floyd County 2023

The two sport star has been one of the best players in the NRV over the past few years, and he was a big part that Floyd got their first win in their own tournament since he's been there. The 6'4” forward is a beast in the paint who knows how to use his body to score, he plays with a great motor and rebounds well on both ends of the floor and he does all the little things to help his team. He finished with 9 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists in their win over Union.

Gavin Herrington | 5'10” PG | Floyd County 2025

Herrington is a young guard for this Floyd team that is very talented and has a lot of upside moving forward, which he showed as both a playmaker and an an athlete. He has good speed and explosiveness with the ball in his hands, he can get downhill where he can make plays for himself and others and he's a good defender as well. He finished with 9 points and 4 steals in their win.

[player_tooltip player_id='977592' first='Austin' last='Ball'] | 6'6” WF | Miller School 2023

While Miller had a tough go losing to two very talented teams in Combine Academy and Winston Salem Christian, the George Mason commit showed why he's one of the best players in the state by putting up some big numbers. The 6'6” wing shot the ball well from deep and worked well off the ball to get open, he showed his athleticism as a finisher around the rim and he played with great energy on both ends of the floor.
