Devin Booker – 6’6” / Sophomore / Cristo Rey / K-Low Elite / Small Forward: Over the last week Booker has proven that his torrid start to the 2022-23 season was not just a flash in the pan. Recently this athletic two-way forward with significant hops registered a double-double — 21 points and 10 rebounds vs Friends Central. He followed up that performance with 18 points and 5 rebounds against Episcopal Academy as well as 27 and 9 against Phelps School. Booker then capped off this amazing stretch with 33 points and 13 boards vs. Community Academy.
Sadeeq Jackson Sadeeq Jackson 6'0" | CG Pottstown | 2024 State PA – 6’0” / Junior / Pottstown / NEPA Elite / Combo Guard: We said in our Pioneer Athletic Conference preview that if Jackson can stay healthy it will be interesting to watch what he can accomplish this season. So far in 2022-23, Jackson has proven us correct. He is a fast, athletic, and instinctive player who can navigate through traffic with the dribbles. In short, he thrives in transition. Additionally, Jackson is a three-point shooter with deep range. Jackson just finished a three-game stretch during which he popped off for games of 21 (5 threes), 17 and 24 points.
Yassir Joyner – 6’3” / Senior / Upper Darby / Team Final Black / Combo Guard: Joyner’s transfer to Upper Darby in the fall has worked out well for him and the team. Joyner has proven to be a prolific 3-level scoring threat. His presence has opened the floor for teammate Nadir Meyers and turned UD into a Central League contender. Last week Joyner registered 17 points to go along with 5 assists in a win over Ridley. Next, he pumped in 25 points and grabbed 7 rebounds in a win over Harriton.
Julian Sadler Julian Sadler 6'1" | CG Perkiomen Valley | 2024 State PA – 6’2″ / Junior / Perkiomen Valley / Prim3 Tim3 / Combo Guard: We witnessed Sadler crush it on the July grassroots circuit, so it comes as no surprise that he is averaging 23 ppg. this winter. In the last week this quick and versatile dribble drive wizard posted 27 points vs. Norristown, 26 points vs. OJR, and finally 30 points against Exeter. As his 3-point shooting continues to develop, Sadler will become unstoppable.
Connor Shanahan Connor Shanahan 5'11" | SG Downingtown East | 2023 State PA – 5’11” / Senior / Downingtown East / Gibbs Elite / Shooting Guard: After a slew of outstanding performances on the 2022 grassroots scene, we were expecting that Shanahan would play well this winter. However, his latest three game stretch has exceeded even our lofty expectations. Last week Shanahan averaged 29.3 points and 7.3 rebounds per contest. He poured in 34 points vs. Kennett. Then recorded a 27 and 15 double-double vs. Avon Grove. Shanahan has always been a creative finisher off the dribble. His much improved three-point shooting has taken his game to another level
Deywilk Tavarez Deywilk Tavarez 6'2" | CG Academy of New Church | 2023 State PA – 6’2″ / Senior / Academy of New Church / Philly Pride National UAA / Combo Guard: Tavarez is having a monster senior season. This ultra-talented perimeter prospect has already been mentioned several times on this site. His stellar play continued over this past week with 23 points, 10 rebounds and 7 dimes vs. Malvern Prep; 23 points against Moorestown Friends; and 27 points, 11 boards and 6 assists vs. Abington Friends. Tavarez is the early front runner for FSL Player of the Year.
