Franklin won the game. Then, miraculously Independence scored at the horn to send it to overtime. Then, Franklin won it again.

77-75. Franklin is the best Williamson County team in the Florida Panhandle tonight!

PrepHoopsTN Andrew Force: You have some players/teammates with new roles, expanded roles. When the game became tight, tense...Did you see any fear in their eyes?...
[player_tooltip player_id='1029084' first='Jack' last='Medalie'] at 8:45 PM 12/30/22: Me, Sam, and Davis played together last year. Obviously all of our roles changed this year. We were able to get a lot of tough wins last year. Our chemistry has been able to get better and better after bringing Christian in. Also, we have a bench, a senior Meyers always makes the right decision. [player_tooltip player_id='1273548' first='Sam' last='Mewborn'] and Riley Jordan...you can count on them. We have a good, calm bench.

PrepHoopsTN Andrew Force: You mentioned chemistry, as one of the reasons you won these tense games.
[player_tooltip player_id='1029084' first='Jack' last='Medalie'] 12/30/22: I think that, from Franklin perspective, I love playing with my teammates. We are all very close. We are all trying to make it to state. I know that we are a close group. Our chemistry is good, partly because we all want to win and we all have the same goal.

PrepHoopsTN Andrew Force: How was the event overall?
[player_tooltip player_id='1029084' first='Jack' last='Medalie'] 12/30/22: "It went well," said [player_tooltip player_id='1029084' first='Jack' last='Medalie']. "We played two tough teams in William Blount and Independence."

They also defeated Montgomery Academy (AL). We also played a Mississippi team (Magnolia Heights).

On William Blount, going into the game...

They have a lot of guys that are good players. Basketball guys.

How did you defeat WB?...

We played sound defense and had good execution. It was close the whole way. We had a crucial stop at the end of the game, that tied us up and we were able to

It was [two] pretty chaotic games (smiling).

On who played well in WB win...
[player_tooltip player_id='1476101' first='Davis' last='Long'], [player_tooltip player_id='1318564' first='Christian' last='Brown'] had a big game. He is always good for us on the glass. A physical presence inside. Getting him to transfer over was a nice. We all played great defense that lead to a win.

And, you played Independence. That is interesting, so far away from home.

We were on the opposite sides of the bracket. And we still met up in final. Those are fun matchups against those teams. It is always fun to go against them.
