Daniels has been in a bigger role offensively this season and he has excelled in it. He uses his length to his advantage, getting by defenders and being able to finish around the rim with his soft touch. He plays with energy on the court and stays aggressive on the glass and deep in the paint. Daniels can shoot the ball too, elevating above defenders for mid-range shots and being able to stretch the floor by hitting threes.

Daniels has really stepped it up from the summer and into the early parts of this season. He’s had to take on a much larger scoring role within North Central’s offense this winter and has lived up to the task so far. He’s looked tougher with the ball, more aggressive attacking gaps, and has shown an elevated ability to score from different spots and split defenders when attacking the rim. There seems to be an emphasis on attacking the middle, whether that comes off of drives or exploiting mismatches in the post.

The tall wing has the potential to keep rising as he steps into a key role for North Central as their most dynamic returning player. At 6’7, he has the size to assert himself by the rim and make plays inside, but he also has continually improved the jumper and is a legit threat to score from the midrange and 3-point. It has the potential to be a massive senior season for Daniels.

The final sleeper on this list, Daniels has really looked good this summer and fall, improving his outside shot, showing he can work as a primary scorer, and now steps into this season as the “guy” at North Central. He has the size and skills to make a big impact in the GSL and could end up being among the top scorers in the state with the number of touches he should get this winter.

Looked very poised with the ball and was a killer from the high post, both with his decision-making and shooting. Was able to focus in and hit tough shots in traffic, showed he was ready to attack on the catch with some immediate direction changes catching on the go, and was especially efficient finishing at the cup. He really made an impact from all levels and used his size to affect the game in the paint on both ends.

Makai played fantastic throughout 3on3 play, utilizing space on the court to attack the ball and go a defenders with his 1on1 game. He is strong with the ball and has a soft touch around the rim. During 5on5 play he filled lanes in transition, being able to finish through traffic and hit fadeaway jumpers from the mid-range.

Daniels is a powerful kid who really does a number getting to the rim in the half court and transition. He has the size and athleticism to be a strong player for the North Central Wolfpack, but he has yet to put it all together on the court. He can shoot the 3-ball but seems to fall in love with the outside shot a little too much, instead of using his physicality to get to the rim or draw defenders and make plays. If he can improve his handle and make more plays going to the rim, he could become a key piece for North Central next year and help them make the leap to a playoff team.

I haven’t seen much of Daniels yet in 2022-23 but he is still an impressive prospect in the 2025 class. He’s got the size/power combo to be utterly destructive at the rim coming in from the wings. He’s a super athletic kid who thrives in the open court right now and in finding lanes to the hoop, but he does have a promising jumper that’s developing. Daniels had a strong showing in the summer and when he does get on the court this year, there will be a ton of activity at the rim at North Central.
