Game 1: Gabe Garcia 6’1 2023 CG from Alameda. He was the games leading scorer with 22 points. The lefty was most effective using his solid body, and good balance to finish strong in transition. On the perimeter he used his mid-range jumper to hit from the short corner, and from angles using the back board.
Game 2: TJ Motil 5’9 2023 CG from Saint Francis. Early on he showed an ability to be a facilitator, good patience up top, court vision, and passing. He found shooters spotting up in the corner for 3’s, along the perimeter, and slashers to the basket. His role changed in the second half switching to shooting guard. He went 3/3 for 3’s to finish with 18 points, 14 in the second half.
Game 3: Adarius Gates 6’1 2025 Guard from Oakland Tech. The speedy guard has been playing well over the last few games. He’s generating steals with quick hands and good tenacity on defense. He hit big 3’s in the corner. He was a point producer, scoring off drives, using balance, and toughness to score in the paint. He finished with 22 points.
Game 4: Miles Burrows Miles Burrows 6'3" | SF Bishop O'Dowd | 2023 State CA-N 6’3 2023 forward from Bishop O’Dowd. He’s established himself as the go to guy in the post area, not necessarily posting up but knocking down short corner jumpers, free throw jumpers, and using a hard dribble or two taking it strong into the paint where he has a good touch. He scored 20 points
Game 5: Ryan Beasley Ryan Beasley 5'11" | PG Dougherty Valley | 2023 State #228 Nation CA-N 5’10 2023 Guard from Dougherty Valley, USF commit. He went for 37 points in a spirited contest against a Vanden team who’ll play anybody. He had to work for it. He’s the most exciting scoring guard in NorCal to watch. He’s making a run for back to back player of the year.
Game 6: Derek Sangster Derek Sangster 6'7" | SF Archbishop Mitty | 2023 State #213 Nation CA-N 6’7 2023 Forward from Archbishop Mitty. He’s playing with a certain level of calmness, and confidence after recently committing to Princeton. He’s playing at a high level right now, working the inside out game. He’s knocking down 3’s at a good percentage, and using his length to score, and rebound in the paint. There’s a good chance he’ll be a double, double guy this season. He dropped 30pts in this game with at least 10 rebounds.
