On opening night I went to see the Omaha Westside Warriors take on the Lincoln Southeast Knights. Westside was favored to win but Lincoln Southeast had plans for a different outcome.
Omaha Westside Warriors vs Lincoln Southeast Knights
The Knights came out aggressive against the Warriors. You could tell Lincoln Southeast came to play. Westside would begin to match the intensity and take a 4 point lead going into halftime. The Knights outscored Westside 20-18 in the 3rd quarter and 23-13 in the forth to take a commanding victory over the Warriors.
Lincoln Southeast Standouts
Tae played amazing against Omaha Westside. He displayed solid ball handling skills, the ability to finish on the fastbreak, and excellent leadership. Moore scored a team high 17 points off 5-12 from the field, 1-3 from downtown, and 6-6 from the free-throw line. He had 5 assists and rebounded the ball 5 times. Taye was half the resaon why the knights defeated the warriors on opening night.
Bangot was huge for the Lincoln Southeast. The 6’8″ small forward was unmatched in this contest. He is able to play on the perimeter or down low in the post. Dak had 16 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 blocks for the Knights. He was very efficient from the field, ending the game 7 for 11 (64%). Bangot can shoot from 3-point range and has highlight finishes above the rim. Coaches feel Dak is one of the most improved players in the state of Nebraska. He definitley looked like a college recruit.
Omaha Westside Standouts
Tate has the ability the score in bunches consistently from mid-range. Once he gets going he can be a nightmare to slow down. Against the Knights, Odvody scored 20 points off 8 for 15 from the field and 4 for 4 from the free-throw line. Tate also had 4 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 steals. Even though the Warriors lost the game, Odvody played with extreme passion and kept pushing until the clock expired. He is an amazing basketball player.
Kevin Stubblefield Kevin Stubblefield 6'4" | SF Omaha Westside | 2024 State NE
Kevin had a game-high 22 points off of 7-11 (64%) from the field and 1-2 (50%) from downtown. He went 7-9 (78%) from the charity stripe, with six rebounds, two assists/steals.
