The annual National Prep Showcase took place in New Haven, Connecticut again this year, and it featured some of the top post grad teams across the country. It was 3 days of nonstop action in front of tons of college coaches and NBA scouts, and the amount of next level players in the event is second to none.

We'll take a look at some of the many standouts from the event over the next week. Here's a look at some of the top players from the midwest and west coast teams in attendance.

[player_tooltip player_id='1463274' first='Jordan' last='Burks'] | 6'8” WF | SoCal Academy 2023

The SoCal Academy team came to the National Prep Showcase to show that their first year post grad program can play with anyone, and they did just that as they showed they're one of the deepest teams in the country and did so with 5 star prospect [player_tooltip player_id='1081858' first='Isaiah' last='Miranda'] out with a hand injury. Burks stepped up and led the way, as the athletic Ole Miss commit showed a little bit of everything on both ends of the floor and was dynamic in a number of different ways. At 6'8” he's a true wing who can put it on the deck and make shots from deep, he gets downhill and is a bouncy finisher above the rim and he can do a little bit of everything to impact winning. He averaged 19 points and 5.5 rebounds in their two wins.

Robert Davis | 6'6” WG | SoCal Academy 2023

UMass looks like they got an absolute steal in Davis, as he has been on an absolute tear to start the season and was big yet again in their 2-0 run in the NPS. The 6'6” two guard is wired to score the ball as he has the ability to create space off the bounce and knock down shots from multiple levels, he can get hot quickly and score it in bunches from multiple levels and he can play on or off the ball to get open and makes plays for others as well. He averaged 16.5 points per game in their two wins.

Salim Arikat | 6'8” PF | SoCal Academy 2023

Arikat may have been the SoCal player that increased his stock the most over the weekend, as the 6'8” stretch four showed a lot of potential with his mix of length and skill as a shot making forward. At 6'8” he has very long arms and uses them to challenge shots and rebound, he can step out where he's a consistent shooter from deep with effortless range and he is a good passer and can even put the ball on the deck at times. In their win over New Hampton, he had 14 points and 5 rebounds on 4-for-6 shooting from deep.

Carlin Davison | 6'6” WF | SoCal Academy 2023

Davison is a native of New Zealand who caught the eye of a number of coaches and scouts with his athleticism and all-out style of play. He's a two way wing who is athletic and plays with a great motor, he's a big time rebounder on both ends and finishes above the rim with ease and he can score the ball in bunches and brings good energy on the defensive end too with his ability to protect the rim and guard multiple positions. In their win over Bridgton, he finished with 12 points, 11 rebounds and 2 blocks.

Javion Guy-King | 6'6” WG | Sunrise Christian 2023

While Guy-King dealt with some injuries and foul trouble in Sunrise's two games, a three overtime win over Cushing and a close loss to Putnam Science, he still showed he's a very intriguing prospect with the ability to knock it down at a high rate. He has great size on the wing and a strong frame that should continue to fill out, he has a quick release and effortless range from deep and he's a good athlete who is no slouch on the defensive end too. He finished the event averaging 16.5 points and 8 rebounds per game, including a 20 points, 11 rebound double-double in their win over Cushing.

Kevin Overton | 6'5” CG | Sunrise Christian 2023

Overton was one of the most impressive guards in the event, as the 6'5” combo already was impressive with his size and athleticism, but his production as a scorer and a rebounder at his position really stood out. The lefty showed the ability to change speeds and directions to get to spots and get off shots, he scored the ball in bunches from all three levels and he played big minutes and didn't see his production drop off due to it. He finished the event averaging 23.5 points, 11 rebounds and 4.5 steals, going for a double-double in both games.

The annual National Prep Showcase took place in New Haven, Connecticut again this year, and it featured some of the top post grad teams across the country.
