About Reese

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I love to play a fast pace style which allows me to use my strengths of speed, quickness and basketball IQ. I have worked tirelessly on my skills over the past 10+ years and believe I have made myself into a player without too many weaknesses. My greatest strength is my ability to shoot from long range consistently - 45% from three up to 25+ feet.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I pride myself on being a great teammate and being coachable. I have a strong work ethic and am resilient in overcoming obstacles, such as the back injury I sustained in 2023 which limited my ability to play for Ravenwood during my junior year and also the season with my club team. I'm determined to come back stronger than ever for my senior year and help my team any way I can.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am involved in many clubs & organizations outside of basketball. I'm a member of National Honor Society, Student Council, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Young Life and am a member of Nolensville Baptist Church. I've received many academic awards at Ravenwood, such as Principal's list for All-A's each period and outstanding student award in several classes. I have a GPA of 4.49.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I am very active in my community, with over 70 hours of community volunteering each year through high school. I am a member of Young Men's Service League, a founding member of Stars Serving Others, helped organize and lead the Ravenwood Fellowship of Christian Athletes chapter. I also have worked part-time at Let It Shine Academy where I help lead birthday parties for kids.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

The main challenge I've faced has been a lower back stress fracture that first developed in October 2023 which resulted in my only being able to play 10 games my Junior season and requiring surgery this summer. I dedicated myself to being a positive and encouraging teammate and sitting next to my coaches on the bench to absorb as much knowledge as I could. I look forward to coming back strong.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a college which has a strong focus on academics as well as athletics and somewhere will help me continue to grow and develop as a leader. I plan to study to become a physical therapist as dealing with my back injury has spurred the desire in me to help others overcome their injuries and obstacles.
