There's one KC-area senior in the spotlight not for what he will do on the court, but what he won't do. Eudora football star [player_tooltip player_id='1212168' first='Jaden' last='Hamm'] has said he will head to the University of Arkansas after this semester, leaving a big hole in the Cardinals hoops squad.

Hamm will be missed. But here are five other Kansas City-area seniors who will be in the spotlight (in alphabetical order):

Tonight he will lead his Baldwin team in the state soccer 4A Final Four. Last week he finished 13u003csupu003ethu003c/supu003e in the 4A state cross country meet. And he just signed to play hoops at Mid-America Nazarene. He will be a top guard in the 4A classification as well. He averaged 18 points as a junior.","_player_evaluations_0_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_1_player":["1407806"],"_player_evaluations_1_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_1_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_1_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_1_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_1_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_1_evaluation":"Doss really impressed this summer. He's a super quick guard who can push the ball up the court in a flash, create an opening, and make plays. He averaged 11 points and 3.5 assists as a junior. The Braves had four guards who complemented each other well a year ago. Two have graduated, meaning Doss and backcourt mate junior [player_tooltip player_id='1390595' first='Kalen' last='Streit'] will get a high usage rate.","_player_evaluations_1_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_2_player":["1290287"],"_player_evaluations_2_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_2_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_2_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_2_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_2_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_2_evaluation":"Johnson was a great complementary piece for De Soto's run to the state finals last year. He had a nice summer and looks ready to play an even bigger role this season. He can hit from the perimeter, make plays in the lane and run the offense. But best of all, he's gritty, smart and unselfish.","_player_evaluations_2_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_3_player":["1394712"],"_player_evaluations_3_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_3_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_3_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_3_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_3_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_3_evaluation":"Spring Hill struggled to get a lot of wins last year, but Metcalf is poised to guide the team to a big improvement. He's a long guard who can really shoot it. He handles the ball and gets teammates involved, but he may need to take a big role this year as the primary scorer. He rebounds and defends multiple positions well with his length, athleticism and high motor.","_player_evaluations_3_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_4_player":["1080207"],"_player_evaluations_4_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_4_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_4_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_4_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_4_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_4_evaluation":"Speaking of motor, Ruud (pictured) is revved up all the time. This guy has made a huge jump in the past year. A year ago, he was ranked 72u003csupu003endu003c/supu003e in the 2023 class and was looking to make an impact in the Basehor-Linwood rotation. Now he's the 4u003csupu003ethu003c/supu003e ranked player in the class and recently committed to play at Washburn University. He's a high flyer who plays with power and tons of energy.","_player_evaluations_4_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations":5,"_player_evaluations":"field_62aba7547dc44"},"align":"","mode":"preview"} /-->
