Season Preview: The Preseason All-State Team for Class 1A

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The latest installment of our preseason all-state teams will take a look at Class 1A. North Central has won three of the last four state championships in this class and they have had players such as Derrick Tezeno and Reginald Stoner represent the school as all-state performers. This preseason team is full of talented players who are a part of some of the better teams in the class. However, they are a group of players that would be 1st team selection in other classes as well. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='970125' first='De'Vion' last='Lavergne']</strong> is a top ten player in the 2023 class and may be one of the best two way players in the south. He plays hard at all times and competes on both ends of the floor. <strong> [player_tooltip player_id='970126' first='Omarion' last='Layssard']</strong> is a high flying guard out of north Louisiana who takes punishment going to the rim but keeps coming possession after possession. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='970110' first='Eric' last='Washington']</strong> is an athletic guard/wing out of Delhi who has play-making ability as well. He will be a leader on a seasoned Bears team who has made several appearances at Marsh Madness in recent history. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1213568' first='Jalan' last='Washington']</strong> led White Castle to the state championship game last year. He is a guard who thrives in transition and driving to the rim. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='970128' first='Bryson' last='Colbert']</strong> is a newcomer to Class 1A and he will have the ball in his hands to make decisions at Hamilton Christian this season. His growth as a guard and maturity as a senior will have him produce on an all-state level. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1155872' first='Damarcus' last='Jack']</strong> is another all-district player who has constantly improved over the years. The season might start while he is still on the football field but I believe Jack will be a difference maker on the hardwood this season. Another football player who averaged a double-double last season was <strong>Bralyn Mayfield</strong>. The Lincoln Prep forward will do the same thing this year in my opinion with a potential Marsh Madness run in his future. <strong> [player_tooltip player_id='1105550' first='McKennis' last='Savoie']</strong> is a dynamic offensive player who has improved defensively. His ability to create and finish is why he is a second team performer. Closing out the second team is one of the more intelligent point guards in the class. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1213564' first='Jonathan' last='Barron']</strong> knows how to run a show and is very good from behind the arc.
