Keylon is a high level guard who has really improved over the last year. I was very impressed with his versatility, paired with his growing frame and good strength. He impressed me by his willingness to bang down low in the paint, but also score from the perimeter. His ability to get his shot off from a live dribble was very impressive and he makes step back three pointers look routine. His ability to create enough space to get his shot off at all three levels was impressive. He is a reliable floor spacer when given time to catch and shoot. His knock down shot ability allows his team to feed off of his scoring ability. He possesses great athleticism and can throw down some emphatic dunks on the break. where I have really noticed development over the last year is his decision making and his ability to control the tempo. He is calm and mature and able to attack defender’s off the bounce whenever he wants.
Quintrell Hampton 2023 6’0 La Marque High School
Quintrell is a skilled combo guard who can truly do it all, and takes pride on the mark he makes on the defensive end of the floor. He is a willing defender on ball, moving his fall well to keep his opponent in front of him and sliding to cut off angles. I was very impressed with the ease in which he created space with his handle, he danced around his opponents on the perimeter and used tough spin moves to find space in the lane as well. I was impressed with his awareness as he attacked downhill, he knew where to put his feet to avoid his opponents and then finish at the rim. He is a consistent finisher within the half court, even when the game slowed down he was able to explode past his defender and finish at the rim. His intensity and ability to absorb contact on his way to the rim is tantalizing to watch. I would like to see him continue to work on his shot off the bounce from the perimeter.
David Clower 2023 6’2 Mercedes Early College Academy
David is a guard with a lot of potential through his ability to do it all down low, but also his willingness to do the dirty work on the interior. He has the ability to finish at the rim over anyone and also protect the paint on the defensive end of the floor when necessary. I was very impressed with his ability to slide over as a help defender, he routinely met his opponents at the rim and high pointed their shot to turn it away. His consistency in the paint on the defensive end of the floor was incredibly impressive for his size. He routinely jumped passes in the passing lane as well, showing off his on court awareness. He is a real athlete who really explodes to the rim, I loved watching him leap over and through his opponents to consistently finish in the paint. I would like to see him work on his ability to score from beyond the arc, as well as keeping his head up to make the right reads when he is attacking the rim with tenacity.
Davion Allen 2023 6’0 Hendrickson High School
Davion is a dynamic and confident two way guard who makes his mark on the defensive end of the court. He is great at turning defense into offense. I loved how he played the passing lanes, baiting his opponent into lazy paces and exploding towards the ball to get a hand in there. His active hands made him a real weapon on the defensive end of the court, and made his opponents incredibly uncomfortable when trying to get past him. He routinely rose up for dunks on the fast break, showing off his explosive legs at the explosiveness he brings to the point guard position. On the offensive end, he made timely passes to set up his teammates but is great at attacking the basket and drawing the attention of the defense and then making the right outlet pass after getting into the teeth of the defense. I loved his willingness to rebound as well, using his athleticism to high point the ball and then keep his head up to make the right outlet pass. Davion’s IQ on both ends of the court is ready to hit the next level!
Kaden Lewis Kaden Lewis 4'8" | PG TX 2023 6’0 A&M Consolidated High School
Kaden is a skilled guard due to his ability to score off the bounce from all three levels, but what makes him even more deadly is his willingness to takes what the defense gives him every time down the court. He is a confident scorer who showed an ability to pull up from beyond the arc or by attacking the rim and really selling the drive and stopping to score in the midr ange. I loved his willingness to push the tempo and run the fast break. Lewis’s ability to go coast to coast after catching an outlet pass really allowed his team to flip the game around and burn teams on the fast break.
