stood out as a floor general by playing with great pace and patience, allowing plays to develop while orchestrating the offense. His court awareness and passing prowess enabled him to instantly spot and exploit mismatches. Minor made the majority of his plays within the mid-range, where he loved to create space with contact for pull-up jumpers or kick-out passes. He played as if he had the ball on a string, capable of getting into the paint and any other spot on the floor. Unfazed by any defensive scheme, he could break down and shake off any guard in front of him, always ready with a counter move to get through help defense. Minor impacted the offense heavily with his crafty ways of scoring, utilizing ball fakes and pump fakes to get defenders off balance or off their feet, allowing him to step through for shots. Great with bump contact, he proved capable of bodying and posting up other guards despite size differences. He skillfully used his body to initiate contact with defenders, creating space when driving to the basket or maneuvering in the mid-range. By initiating contact, he often caught defenders off guard, forcing them to react and potentially commit fouls.

was on a tear all Winter Break in the Swaic, which is the top prep school league in Texas and loaded with talented guards. He’s been the backbone for a talented Big Tyme Prep squad that briefly lost one of their top contributors to injury. His feel for the game is to smooth and that’s no surprise with his family history in basketball, son of Demarcus Minor former Baylor Bear point guard. He controls the pace of the game and was able to settle the team down or speed them up depending on the situation. In addition he’s currently top 5 in scoring in the Swaic with almost 20 points per game. He even recorded nearly 30 against Taca Storm who has one of the states best guards. Defensively a dog, will pick your pockets for easy transition baskets. Dailon is ELITE and should be on your radar moving into summer and a predicted huge senior campaign at Big Tyme.

2025 Dailon is someone I’ve had on my radar for a while. His coach is extremely high on his upside and after this weekend it’s easy to see why. Dailon displayed some complete talents as a guard leading his team not just contributing to scoring but all around. He had a 12 point streak that brought his team back and it was the talk of the weekend. He attacks the basket with poise and finishes through and over contact. He’s also a potent midrange shooter which is so important in our generation where kids focus primarily on the 3 ball. His defense is key to him getting going, he plays the passing lane or will strait up pick your pocket and go the other way. Dailon contributed heavy as a sophomore and looks to be ready to lead this new face Big Tyme sports program that had a ton of success last year.
