On Saturday I attended the Prep Hoops Arizona Top 250 Expo at Inspire Courts in Gilbert. AZ

There were around 80 players who attended the camp from the 2023-2026 classes. Most players were from AZ but we had one from Cali, two from New Mexico and shockingly one from Maine looking for good competition.

Here were some of the top 2023 prospects:

[player_tooltip player_id='1036000' first='Khalon' last='Johnson'] Eduprize

One of the toughest scorers in traffic to defend at the camp. He uses his size, build, athleticism and body control to score over, through and around defenders. He can pull-up from mid-range and hit the the three as well. He loves slashing to the basket off the bounce and makes it look easy from inside and out. He defends multiple positions from the 1-3 with his athletic gifts.

[player_tooltip player_id='937203' first='Kolin' last='J. Vance'] Paradise Valley (Pictured)

The top athlete of the camp is a long wing forward who springs up effortlessly. He seems to glide in the air gracefully and has real open court speed like a track star. He grabs rebounds out of his area with a motor and scores on back door dunks, put backs and catch threes.

[player_tooltip player_id='1033063' first='Jay-Juan' last='Gould'] American Leadership Academy-West Foothills

One of the pleasant surprises at the camp is an athletic guard who can play on or off the ball. He creates his own offense with his downhill play and scoring on difficult layups, high flying dunks and mid-range jumpers. He is also an aggressive defender using his length, athleticism, quick twitch reflexes and speed.

[player_tooltip player_id='1633053' first='Vincent' last='Parise'] Desert Mountain

A highly skilled guard plays both guard spots. He is a smart passer and plays a cerebral brand of ball. He is a little stronger in his upper body and it is improving his on-ball defense. He hits catch triples with easy range and sees the court quickly to make a play for a teammate. He uses his tighter handle to burst passed his defenders.

[player_tooltip player_id='1066516' first='Jordan' last='Voorhees'] Pusch Ridge

A strong upper bodied scoring point guard. He has a tight handle and real strength to get into the lane and score. He loves the pull-up from mid-range and he will score through contact with that frame. He reads the court and can throw the dime. He is a physical on-ball defender.

[player_tooltip player_id='831129' first='Eric' last='Perkins'] Deer Valley

A scoring guard who was arguably the top standstill shooter from the camp. He has a super quick trigger with deep range. He can pull-up off the dribble and he always moves without the ball to relocate. He gives hard ball fakes and uses it to get by his defenders.

[player_tooltip player_id='1633049' first='Mikail' last='Adeel'] Chandler

A newcomer by way of Canada will be a nice addition to the Wolves roster. He is tough and versatile. He can score inside with a nice touch and euro his way to the basket. He can also dunk the ball and shoot the three with some range. He plays with good energy and he can be a physical defender.

[player_tooltip player_id='1066518' first='Lucas' last='Leslie'] Mohave

A versatile wing is a small school standout. When you play at small schools, you have way more obligations as the top player. He shows that he can do a little bit of everything. He will score the ball from inside and out. He is a fearless scorer in traffic versus bigger players and he can shoot it from the perimeter. He makes smart passes, blocks shots, rebounds, makes the correct read and plays the game with a huge IQ.

[player_tooltip player_id='1633054' first='Waleed' last='Belgaied'] Hamilton

A thicker framed shooting guard is a possible 3 and D type. He can get downhill and he rebounds well in and out of his area. He plays the game with a high motor to defend multiple positions. He is best off the catch from the three and brings sheer hustle to both sides of the court.

[player_tooltip player_id='1633019' first='Brandon' last='Farley'] Florence

A scoring guard who creates his own offense off the dribble. He has a tighter handle with some quickness to blow by his defenders. He is a good passer and rebounder for position. He will push it down the court with his vision or go coast to coast and score the bucket.

[player_tooltip player_id='1633034' first='Jackson' last='Williams'] Tempe Prep

A scoring wing forward is skilled to the three point line. He is best off the catch and he is a sneaky good passer. He is a more then adequate on-ball defender and he should have a big year for Tempe Prep scoring and defending.

[player_tooltip player_id='1633030' first='Ezekiel' last='Dorman'] Centennial

An undersized pure point guard is strong, stocky and shows toughness. He is a physical on-ball defender-and consistently looks up the court to throw passes on a dime
