Transferring has become somewhat of a norm at both the high school and college level. Each summer, we see a shake up in rosters that could help swing contenders to juggernauts or teams who were initially projected to struggle earn respect from others in their league. For this article, I'll point out five senior transfers who are on my radar entering the 2022-23 season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1573230' first='Favor' last='Okigweh'] | Parkville

Okigweh joins the Knights and will immediately become an impact starter for them. An already stout roster with key returners from last year's final four appearance, Okigweh brings size at 6'6, explosive athleticism and versatility to the frontcourt. He'll be the reason for routine highlight finishes on lobs or breakaway dunks. He can also act as an anchor defensively due to his instinctual timing as a shot-blocker and determined mindset when closing down the glass.

[player_tooltip player_id='1280962' first='Brashawn' last='Galloway'] | Mount St. Joe

The Gaels are the reigning MIAA and BCL champions who are another local team that returns a slew of talent from 2021-22. The obvious void was left behind by Bryson Tucker (IMG) and while Galloway won't be expected to make plays on such a level off the dribble, he provides the solid size at 6'5 to give head coach Pat Clatchey a valuable, switchable piece on the wing. The lefty can make shots off the catch and should be a factor playing off other teammates to provide balance through the lineup.

Danny Parsons | City

Parsons could play a big role on this year's Knights squad because of his ability to score from three and at the rim. They're equipped with guys who thrive in either strictly slashing or strictly spot-up shooting, but Parsons steps in as a guy who can do both. The biggest domino with him will come down to consistency. When Parsons is dialed in, he produces at a rapid rate and can really help lift his team to another level. City will need that effort from him this season especially against battles with Lake Clifton.

Tautoko Wynyard | Mt. Carmel

Wynyard caused a lot of buzz when he showed up on the scene. One because of his size at 6-foot-10, but also because he adds to the depth of Mt. Carmel and helps lessen the blow that is left behind from Luke Bamgboye transferring (Bella Vista). The New Zealand native will take time to adjust to the nuances of the American game, as most foreign bigs need. What is evident is his massive size and ability to take up space in the lane. He sets effective ball screens and can feast on the glass. Putting it all together consistently will be the formula at hand.

[player_tooltip player_id='957105' first='Karim' last='Harris'] | Rosedale Christian

Rosedale enters the scene as a program who has revamped and with Harris, they get a vocal leader that can help ignite a culture of a program. He still fits the mold of an undersized big at 6'4, but brings a relentless motor and a presence that makes him play bigger. He continues to hone in on his perimeter skills and if he can show flashes of that, his value will rise, but it's more of the intangibles that he'll be relied on to bring for head coach Charles Hebron.
