This past weekend I stopped by TJ Ford Academy Fall Ball Showcase and OTR Fall ball Showcase. Fall ball gives player a chance to see what part of their game they need to work on the most; coaches get see where his team lacks, and find the solution. The best part is seeing then top guys come back better, and the new faces that'll emerge this year.

[player_tooltip player_id='1352537' first='Robert' last='Miller'] Jr.III - 6'10 Pasadena Memorial High School Class of 2024

Miller is known for his defensive presence leading the city in blocks last year. This past Saturday Miller was his usual self making it hard for the offense to get easy looks. The power foward is starting to take his game to the perimeter He was taking defenders from the wing, and looking to throw it down. You can tell he's been putting in work with the confidence when he pulls up.

[player_tooltip player_id='1487344' first='Qasim' last='Boyd'] - 6'0 Dickison High School Class of 2024

Boyd stock will rise this year after having to take the backseat to a talented Gator squad last year, Boyd still had plenty of shining moments. Looking ready to be a leader this year Boyd can create for himself and others. The great part about him is his calm demeanor that never changes. Strong finisher over tall defenders.

Khalil Elbatrawy - 6'3 Dickinson High School Class of 2024

Elbatrawy is a name the city should be familiar with after this year. The kid can fly through the air which can catch opposing teams off guard. Quick first step looking to attack the rim or pull up for the mid-range if the defense doesn't step up. You can tell Elbatrawy and Boyd are developing chemistry on the court.

Keylon Dorsey - 6'5 Eisenhower High School Class of 2023

Dorsey is a big guard that is interesting to watch because he takes what the defense gives him. His wingspan combine with his elevation on his jump-shot make it hard for defenders to contest. He'll use the step back to create more space for a clean look. Like to see him create for others more which he is capable of. Likes to uplift his teammates.

Koye Rondeno - 5'10 Klein Cain High School Class of 2024

If there was a preseason most improved player award Rondeno would be the clear winner. Cain competed in both showcases this weekend, and Rondeno played a huge role in every game. The sub six foot guard is very calm and poise when handling pressure. Known for his catch and shoot role things have changed as he us handling the ball and calling plays. Smooth player in every offensive aspect of his game.

John Clark - 6'10 Klein Cain High School

Big Clark will be an anchor in the paint for the Canes' this year. Clark have a good sense of timing for blocking shots. Heavy motor when it come to crashing the boards. It have some agility to him, performing a euro-step in transition. Can also guard the perimeter.

Bryce Smith - 6'0 Barbers Hill

Smith showed how he's ready to led the Eagles to another playoff. Smith have the skill set of a crafty, strong, guard that plays with a chip on his shoulder. Made the crowd say, "ohhhhh" a few times with his athleticism. Driving baseline then rising up for a jam isn't expected from a small guard. Plays with no fear.

[player_tooltip player_id='1471189' first='Corey' last='Hadnot'] II - 6'3 Cypress Creek High school

Hadnot was being Hadnot this past weekend reading what the defense is giving him. His body frame is alloww him to bump defenders out the way towards the rim. You have to close out properly on him if not he'll blow past hhis defender for an easy layup. The Purdue-Ft. Wayne commit looked in shape ready to make a playoff run.
