Zickert has shown very real growth in his game over the years. He’s a next level perimeter defender and I say that with no hesitation. Zickert is very strong physically and he uses it well to stifle opposing ball handlers. Defense wins championships and he will give you championship D.

Zickert is a player that coaches and scouts will want to watch. Especially on the defensive end of the floor. He can simply defend with a next level quickness and physicality. Zickert has a very strong frame and quick feet that make a constant nuisance for opposing ball handlers.

Zickert has been testing himself with an A+ schedule with the Midwest Stampede North team. He’s seen top talent from all over the midwest and you can see that it has slowed the game down for him moving to high school ball. Zickert has the ability to touch paint off the drive and make plays from there. He looked really good when he hit 2 feet in the lane and made good decisions with the ball as to whether to kick or finish. Zickert started to recognize when or if there was a double lane and attacked it when he saw it. This young man looks prepared for a huge senior season.

Zickert will be a player to watch at the tournament. The guy man can flat out defend. He plays defense with a college level physicality and intensity. Zickert can frustrate high level guards and force the ball out of their hands.

I haven’t seen many or any guards get up on their opponent and pressure the ball like he does and did this weekend. Zickert and his gritty defense drew the praise of opposing coaches.
