Jonathan Gray III
About Jonathan
Expert Analysis
William Lloyd III | Prep Hoops Scout
Jonathan was a major piece to Cardozo’s 2024 championship run during the season. The way Cardozo flies around the floor and defends hard is exactly what brought Gray to this list. He defends the ball extremely hard and shifts over to draw steals and charges. His defensive rotation is on point with the defensive scheme of the team. He makes plays defensively all game to help his team succeed. Jonathan is one of those players who will always bring the energy and effort on the defensive side.

In his first game Grey was mainly a rebounder and a solid inside presence. Game 2 is where he left his fingerprints in a big win. Grey juvinated his team by dominating the glass in the second half of the St. Andrew’s matchup. He had at least 5 offensive rebounds down the stretch that gave his team another chance to make a successful basket. He was able to put it up through the contact and finish some, and even stretched out to the perimeter and hit a couple of huge 3-pointers. Had one in OT which was vital in sealing the deal. Grey owned the paint in his game #2, especially in the 2nd half, both offensively and defensively. Big piece to the Cardozo roster.

A steady wing prospect with a quality feel and motor on both ends of the floor. Gray can pass, shoot, and handle the ball, but understands how to naturally fill in the gaps or expand his production as needed. Also a quality defender and rebounder who consistently does the little things.
