Expert Analysis
Cam Rickers | Prep Hoops Scout
Ben Ritter initially caught my attention after lighting it up this past June during the school-ball live periods. He’s a very unique and intriguing prospect due to his combination of size and guard skill, standing at a legit 6’7 now. Ritger shoots the 3 well but has recently developed into a complete, 3-level scorer. If he can add a few inches to his vertical and start finishing above the rim consistently, there could be a lot of basketball in Ritger’s future. Having been sidelined a lot over the past two years with injury, he’s a guy that I could see benefitting from playing as an unsigned senior in the spring and coaches should keep close watch if he does.

While Ritger was sidelined for much of last season with injury, he was able to showcase what he can do over the summer with Team Harping and caught a lot of attention. Ritger is a true 2-guard in my opinion and provides great size there at 6’6. He can really shoot the lights out of the ball from all over the floor and also looks good pushing the pace and finishing in transition. A lot of Ritger’s game translates nicely to the next level and he’s already picked up an offer from Maryville.

Ritger has intriguing size and mobility on the perimeter at 6-foot-6. He’s an effective rebounder that can guard multiple spots. Ritger is able to start fastbreaks and make plays off the dribble. He has the athleticism to finish above the rim. Ben has a ton of tools to work with and could be an X-Factor this upcoming season after averaging just 3.3 points per game in 9 contests last year.
