PrepHoops 250 Expo: Team 1 Evaluations

He surged right into the lane and made moderately difficult layups. The physicality and speed of Medlock distanced him from the masses. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>When<strong> [player_tooltip player_id='1578710' first='Marshall' last='Ashley']</strong> checked him, Medlock and his team did nearly nothing.&nbsp; Ashley got up in his shirt, made a simple inbounds pass to Medlock frustratingly hard.&nbsp; So much so that Medlock looked longingly at the ref, as it to say, don't let him deny so assertively.&nbsp; Finally, Medlock's teammate just passed a different guard an the play unfolded meekly.&nbsp; In the second half, Medlock did score on Ashley with a challenging though beautiful corner jumper.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Watch a<a href="https://www.pandora.com/artist/colin-blakey-and-the-clan/the-roke/ALj6ch5xt5zdv7m" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"> snippet </a>of Team Ashley in action.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1578711' first='Mj' last='Floyd']</strong> (Team Medlock) hit a three-pointer over <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1140747' first='Casey' last='Williams']</strong> (Team Ashley).&nbsp; He was not jet quick, but fast enough.&nbsp; During another possession, Floyd sensed a trap from his blindside and dribbled away from it quickly.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:embed {"url":"https://youtu.be/SV0XRBnwbRw","type":"video","providerNameSlug":"youtube","responsive":true,"className":"wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio"} --> <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://youtu.be/SV0XRBnwbRw </div></figure> <!-- /wp:embed --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1416313' first='Charvez' last='Ambrose']</strong> dominated play.&nbsp; Watch him hit a three-pointer above. Charvez wore #228. &nbsp;&nbsp;He looked the part of a D1 player.&nbsp; His handle is so much better than he was able to demonstrate during his junior year.&nbsp; The great guard teammates at Bartlett removed the opportunity for Ambrose to dribble out of trouble and dribble to create.&nbsp; Saturday, he proved that he is an adept dribbler, with that wonderful escapablity.&nbsp; It was not clear if he can guard an elite college point guard, because there simply were not any on the other team.&nbsp; But, he can probably play, at least for spurts, point guard at the D2 level, and combo guard at the LM level.&nbsp; His shooting is one skill that he established last winter as D2+ prospect.&nbsp; The handle is what he showcased Saturday.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A [player_tooltip player_id='1140747' first='Casey' last='Williams'] up-and-under move was elite.&nbsp; Easy riser.&nbsp;&nbsp; He has the physicality and smoothness of a MM-HM player.&nbsp; He will be something special at the college level.&nbsp;&nbsp; The jumper form is really, really clunky.&nbsp; Needs smoothing out.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Later, Williams suffered a horse-collar foul by defender Medlock.&nbsp; Missed the ensuing free throw. Both of them.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Later, Williams made a quick layup when his feet were planted on block.&nbsp; Really comfortable in the post.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1578674' first='Andrew' last='Ford'] played well in the contest. This was a PrepHoopsTN initial evaluation. Ford was very direct and determined. Slightly above average speed with the basketball.
