McDonald excels in one on one situations where he can utilize his creativity and handle to put his defender on an island. The Oak Park guard was the quickest player on the floor and makes use of his speed to get to the rim and to his spots. Excellent playmaker who can dime up with the best of them. Showed the ability to shoot from outside and also finished with both hands at the rim. Top player of the game.
2023 Osiris Nalls Osiris Nalls 6'4" | PG Sierra Canyon | 2023 State CA-S (Viewpoint) Good shooter off the dribble and on the catch. Nalls showed off his go to turn around shot when backing down smaller guards in the post. The Viewpoint guard has a quick release and does a great job of finding his spots on the floor. Knows how to use his speed to get by his man and to get to the rim. Creative scoring guard who has knows how to get the ball in the basket.
2023 Anthony Hrboka (San Pedro) Guard with limitless range. Hrboka raised his stock the most by putting on an impressive lights out shooting display at the showcase. The 6’1″ guard is a threat to splash a 3 anywhere within 4 ft past half court. Also displayed creativity with the rock with a couple head fakes and look offs. Coaches who need a shooter on the roster need to take a look at Hrboka.
2023 Mikah Ballew Mikah Ballew 6'6" | SF Valencia | 2023 State CA-S (Valencia) Very good shooter with size. The 6’6″ Ballew is a big strong wing with a big frame who can play both inside and outside. Has a nice shooting touch with a quick release similar to LiAngelo Ball’s. Uses his size well when attacking the rim and has good body control. Has the potential to play 3 positions at the next level.
2024 Ethan Johnson (Chaminade) Very good natural shooter with a smooth stroke. The 6’4″ combo guard can score in a myriad of ways with off the dribble moves, catch and shoot, and also spotting up. His shooting is so dangerous that defenders will jump and bite at the first pump fake which opens up driving lanes for Johnson. Good at creating space in the triple threat and knows how to use the rocket step to free himself for his shots. Good basketball IQ.
2025 Tariq Bridges (St. Pius) Creative combo guard with downhill ability. The 6’4″ guard has a good mix of size and handles and has a knack for getting to the hole. Bridges is creative with the rock and has good acceleration and power. Creative attacker who has range out to the 3pt line.
