Expert Analysis
Brandon Ramsey | Prep Hoops Scout
Sims really stepped up against some of the best competition in the state and proved himself as a scorer and three-point shooter, as he had done all season, on Sunday afternoon. The Saint Francis signee shot it well from deep showing off his quick release and sound footwork. He really had a great senior season for Pendleton Heights.

Heady guard out of Pendleton Heights that plays extremely hard. Crafty with the ball in his hands. Understands angles and how to use his body well to get in the lane where he can finish with either hand in a variety of different ways. Good shooter from the perimeter with a relatively slower release but the defense has to be in him. High IQ defender that’s looking to then defense into offense. Recent uptick in his recruiting should continue as he will be one of the top guards at camp.

One of the most accurate three-point shooters in Indiana’s Class of 2026, Sims put his shot-making ability on display at Marian. The 6’1″ guard went 11-16 from beyond the arc in live 5-on-5 action. He remains a highly sought after small college guard and is poised for what could be a monster senior season at Pendleton Heights High School.

Steady guard that’s capable of playing on or off the ball. Off the ball, he’s a good catch shoot guy that has a knack for getting himself open. Really good at reading screens and knowing how to run off it to get an open look. Also a fantastic cutter to make himself available. On the ball, he plays at his own pace. Doesn’t wow you with speed or athleticism, but uses his body well to to get to his spot in the lane and finish. He competes in the defensive end of the floor. Doesn’t get out of position and is a really good help side guy that will step over and take a charge for the team.

. We have seen Sims a few times on the Prep Hoops Circuit and he has had an impressive showing a ton of times we had a chance to watch him. A tough motor player, Sims can produce at a high level in the scoring department as well as playing that facilitator role also. Expect toughness and a lot of shotmaking from Sims this weekend.
