Summer Recap - Program Profile: Indiana Elite Central

<p>When trying to figure out how to best recap the summer basketball scene there was, at first, some paralysis by analysis. With so many great programs featuring talented prospects it is quite the daunting task to try and give everyone the coverage they deserve. Especially with teams spread out across different circuits it can be hard to find a natural way to efficiently break down everything. I've decided that the easiest way to do this, and provided the most individual coverage, will be to simply go team-by-team across the state. This exercise will run through the end of August so be patient as we work through all of the teams. With a rankings update coming at the beginning of the month we will have a lot of other content being pushed out as well.</p>   <p>In these program spotlights we will feature a top prospect, a top stock-riser, and an under-the-radar name. Then, I will simply empty out the notebook with some other thoughts and takeaways that have been compiled over the last few months as it pertains to that team. Let's dive on in.</p>   <h2>Top Prospect: [player_tooltip player_id='1295381' first='Gavin' last='Wisley'] (Bloomington H.S. South 2023)</h2>   <p>Anytime you come across a 6'8" forward with excellent shooting ability it is certainly intriguing. That is exactly what Wisley brings to the table. Whether it be on the pick-and-pop, trailing the play in transition, or on the wings as a catch-and-shoot he is among the best pure shooters in Indiana's class of 2023. Defensively he has shown improvements as a guy who can block some shots around the basket, but his prospectus is definitely centered around what he brings offensively. Currently has a good amount of Division III and NAIA interest.</p>   <h2>Top Stock-Riser: [player_tooltip player_id='935744' first='James' last='Stasey'] (Fishers H.S. 2023)</h2>   <p>Though his stock really blew up during June at the Charlie Hughes Showcase playing with Fishers High School, Stasey was still a popular target for college coaches with Indiana Elite Central. The 6'9" forward really turned heads after playing junior varsity last season for a talented, senior-ladened Fishers team. Stasey is excellent as the roll man, has great hands, and finishes at a very high percentage around the rim. Has attracted interest from a variety of different levels. Definitely a name to keep in mind for any school needing a big man, especially at the small college level.</p>   <h2>Under-the-Radar Name: [player_tooltip player_id='1530699' first='Jeremiah' last='Alexander'] (Beech Grove H.S. 2023)</h2>   <p>Alexander played a big role in Beech Grove's Class 3A State Championship as a junior but still flew a bit under-the-radar heading into the spring and summer. The long 6'2" guard is very quick with the basketball, is a strong playmaker, and is an excellent defender. His two-way ability makes him a very interesting prospect along with his proven winning track record. Definitely a candidate to have a breakout senior season.</p>   <h2>Other Program Notes</h2>   <ul><li>Another interesting prospect for this group is [player_tooltip player_id='1162851' first='Nate' last='Matelic'] (Speedway H.S. 2023). The 6'5" guard can score it from all three levels and has great size on the perimeter. At his best as a jump shooter in the mid-range but has shown off a well-rounded offensive game. Another great small college prospect on this talented team.</li><li>[player_tooltip player_id='1272457' first='Bryce' last='Hoover'] (Franklin Central H.S. 2023) is a heady guard that had a good summer for Indiana Elite Central. He is a very good three-point shooter and handles it well enough to play both on or off the ball in the backcourt.</li><li>One of the pleasant surprises of the summer was the development of 6'2" guard Devaon Holman (Warren Central H.S. 2023). I admittedly wasn't aware of him until this summer when he impressed with his excellent athleticism, length, and quickness in the backcourt. Should be an important piece in the Warren Central attack this season. Really tough to stop in transition or when he gets downhill to the rim from the perimeter. </li></ul>
