The Hustle Region Finals is behind us. 3 days 15-17U teams battled it out at AIMS Sportsplex in Seal Beach/CA.
I primarily watched the 16 and 17U divisions plus some 15U games.
Here were some of the top 2025-26 PG/CG's I viewed: (Many tough guards in this group).
Jrob Croy CG 6'1 2026 Riverside Poly/CA (Team Eleate 2023) (Pictured)
Playing up a year is never easy, but playing up three and shining is impressive. He shoots the cover off the ball but is improving his feel for the game and his court vision. He is driving the ball more confidently into traffic and will kick it or pull-up.
[player_tooltip player_id="1336443" first="Uriah" last="Tenette"] Prescott (New Mexico D1 2025)
Tough, strong, skilled and athletic describes this talented PG. He is undersized but you don't see it be a problem too often. He rises high to shoot, sees plays happen quickly and jumps up high to rebound. He is tough on the ball defensively.
[player_tooltip player_id="1369808" first="LaDavian" last="King"] Eaglecrest (Team Revenge 2024)
A tough guard was a nice addition to the team. He is aggressive, physical and has a tighter handle. He can get downhill with his shifty handle plus hit perimeter jumpers off the catch or pull. He has good lateral quickness to defend.
Quincy Johnson PG 5'7 2025 Vista Murieta/CA (IE Fire Elite 2025)
Another tough undersized PG. He has blow-by real speed and a tight handle. He is a good passer and defender and loves to attack the basket and will finish with his left or right hand.
[player_tooltip player_id="1445955" first="Jayden" last="Smith"] Chandler (AZ Gremlins 2025-2)
A fierce on-ball defender is a pit bull. He has a quick first step with a nice burst of speed to get downhill. He takes care of the ball versus high pressure and reads the defense quickly to make the pass. He can extend his shooting range moving forward.
[player_tooltip player_id="1502825" first="Aaron" last="Banks"] Southern California Academy (Gamepoint IE 2025)
Another highly competitive scoring guard. He is strong and tough and fights hard every possession. He has a shifty handle and he can pull-up from mid-range. He makes the correct reads and will pester his opposing ball handlers up the court.
Dominic Martinez CG 6'0 2025 Colorado Prep (New Mexico D1 2025)
One of the tougher 15U guards on the circuit. He has broad shoulders and a stronger frame. He is a volume shot taker and maker. He does take a lot of shots but makes a good percentage. He likes it best off the catch and can get downhill and seek contact to score. He rebounds in traffic impressively for his size and he is a gamer.
Michael Espinoza CG 2025 Clovis West/CA (Swoosh Elite 2025)
Yet another tough and strong guard in the 15U division. He is very similar to Martinez but has a little more wiggle to his handle. He can shoot it to the three point line and absorbs contact to score through it. He makes good reads with the ball and was one of the main reasons they won the 15U Chip.
