South Florida Offer Update + More

<p>Happy first day of summer!</p> <p>Recruiting news is off to a hot start in the South Florida area. More players are expected to receive offers during the live period. Check back with us throughout the upcoming weeks and months for the latest.</p> <p>Let’s jump into the news.</p> <p>2023 [player_tooltip player_id="709227" first="Jaylen" last="Carey"] recently earned an offer from Ohio University. The Westminster Academy/Nightrydas Elite prospect has played well this summer en route to his latest offer from the Bobcats. The 6-foot-8 forward has an elite upper body to play with his back to the basket and grab rebounds. Carey’s fluid motion and ability to spin off his defender for opportunities at the rim is only improving. Credit his overall footwork and soft touch to his expanded game. Carey also holds offers from Florida Gulf Coast and Ole Miss.</p> <p>Another day, another offer for 2025 [player_tooltip player_id="1301705" first="Alexander" last="Lloyd"]. The 6-foot-4 shooting shooting guard picked one up from IUPUI. The Jaguars play out of the Horizon League. Lloyd (Westminster Academy/Nightrydas Elite) also earned an offer from Florida State and Florida Gulf Coast earlier this month. Look for him at the GBCA (Georgia Basketball Coaches Association) live period event this weekend.</p> <p>2026 Alex Constanza has earned offers from Creighton and IUPUI. The 6-foot-8 guard/forward played for Mater Academy Charter last season. Constanza averaged 14.2 points, 6.3 rebounds and 1.4 blocks per game with the Lions. He plays for SOH Elite on the circuit and will suit up for Westminster Academy in the fall. Constanza might be the top upcoming freshman in the region.</p> <p>While no offers yet, 2024 [player_tooltip player_id="1053915" first="Stone" last="Bureau"] (Suncoast/Florida Pro) has received a ton of interest from schools. The 6-foot point guard has heard from North Florida, Western Carolina, Indiana State, Longwood, Dayton, FAU, UCF and Columbia. Bureau is one of the better backcourt defenders in the area. You can expect offers to roll in for him soon. Look for Bureau at the GBCA this weekend.</p> <p>In transfer news, 2023 [player_tooltip player_id="1164250" first="Derrick" last="Edouard"] is heading from North Miami to Pembroke Pines Charter. The 6-foot-4 shooting guard/wing is one of the better outside shooters in South Florida. Edouard went 62-of-120 (52 percent) from deep as a junior. His length and athleticism to create separation makes him difficult to defend. Edouard should make an instant impact over in Pembroke Pines. The Jaguars have recently sent a number of players to college.
