Alekseyenko was dominant in the semifinals for Rivers, as he was in the quarterfinals. I called him “baby Jokic” a while back and he had a Jokic-esque game against Millbrook; he was finding backdoor cutters for beautiful feeds and used his power to move around players in the paint for easy post finishes. He also showcased a couple really nice turnaround/fadeaway shots in the post that I haven’t seen him take before. As always, he was fun to watch creating out of the dribble and using his solid handle to get by bigger players. He plays at his own pace – and it’s a slow pace – but you can’t speed him up and he still manages to get the job done.

Alekseyenko was a bit too much for Governor’s to handle in the paint. He had a few easy finishes off of drop steps in the post, and he also had a bunch of put-backs on offensive rebounds. Governor’s certainly shifted their defense towards Alekseyenko, and that allowed him to find teammates for open threes and a couple layups. Defensively, I was really impressed with his ability to slide his feet with guards, though he did get beat by Ferdinando a couple times. Regardless, he barely sat and still played with energy and effort the whole game, which is very impressive.

Alekseyenko was out for a couple months with two wrist injuries, but he doesn’t seem to have any rust on his game since being back. The 6-foot-8 combo forward is one of the best passers in the region and was carving up the Roxbury Latin zone all night. He often keeps the ball over his head and sees over the defense, which allows him to fully utilize his vision and passing instincts. He also has good footwork and can even take bigger players off the dribble. He’ll be such a good piece next year at Colgate as a result of his offensive versatility and skill.

Alekseyenko is a hard-nosed skilled post player who hates to lose. He has a great competitive drive about him and it is seen in his play whenever he is on the floor. He is an elite passer and can quarterback the offense from either block. He has good touch inside and shows flashes as a floor spacer. Colgate landed an early pledge from Alekseyenko who should thrive in the Patriot League.

I called Alekseyenko “mini Jokic” a while back, and I was right. Despite being undersized for the center position, he’s so skilled, smart and versatile offensively that he finds a way to be extremely effective in the half court. He can even step out and knock down the three ball. Alekseyenko recently committed to Colgate and will fit perfectly into their high volume three-point shooting offense which promotes off-ball movement and passing. Seems like a perfect fit for him, and I’m very excited to see how he progresses.

Alekseyenko, one of the spring’s top stock risers, came off the board with a commitment to Colgate University. A stock riser in our most recent rankings update and the MVP of the Made Hoops Circuit this summer, Alekseyenko went from a D3 priority recruit to a high level Division I prospect in the span of just months. He’s a big, versatile forward that is comfortable handling the ball and making decisions to initiate offense. He can score by the rim, knock down standstill jumpers from behind the arc, and has the athleticism and strength to finish at or above the rim through contact. Defensively, his versatility again stands out as he moves well laterally and has the ability to guard up and down a lineup. Colgate did solid work in New England by gaining Alekseyenko’s pledge and it should pay off as he profiles as a versatile forward that could make an immediate impact in the Patriot League.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: Andrew Alekseyenko Andrew Alekseyenko Andrew Alekseyenko 6'8" | PF Rivers | 2025 State New E is baby Jokic. He operates so well out of the post, always finding three-point shooters on crosscourt passes and consistently getting to the front of the rim by using exquisite footwork and body control. He plays at his own pace and can succeed as an undersized big (6-foot-8) against both smaller and larger players. Like Spinoso, Alekseyenko uses incredible pace on his passes which gives shooters the extra half-second they need to make a decision against a defender closing out. The Colgate commit will have a field day in an offense that prioritizes passing and three-point shooting.

One of my favorite bigs in the class, Alekseyenko is a 6-foot-8 point forward who must’ve been watching a lot of Nikola Jokic. He’s a phenomenal passer out of the post and is very cerebral with the ball in his hands. He’s even developed a better looking shot from long range since the last time I saw him. Already has D1 offers and many others will be rolling in.

Andrew Alekseyenko Andrew Alekseyenko Andrew Alekseyenko 6'8" | PF Rivers | 2025 State New E is a stretch four forward with some interesting on-ball creativity. His shooting off the catch is terrific, as his shot is well-balanced with a fluid motion from all areas around the arch. Alekseyenko is faster than you can think, attacking closeouts amazingly by getting to the basket and throwing it down with authority. He is a pretty nifty finisher around the rim and has a great feel and touch on his attempts. Alekseyenko also has a fadeaway in the mid post which is effective as well. His rebounding effort is also noticeable, competing on both the offensive and defensive glass and regularly collecting double-double performances. Alekseyenko’s scoring off and on the ball at his size makes him a seamless piece for any college program.

Aleksseyenko stands out as a skilled wing player, possessing a versatile skill set that amplifies his impact on the court. His ability to finish around the rim with finesse and a delicate touch distinguishes him as a scoring threat in the paint. Additionally, he showcases impressive athleticism, enabling him to elevate his game on both ends of the floor. He is also adept at getting out in transition and using his length to finish
