PLAYERS TO WATCH
Mohamed Farahani (2024, PG, Farmington)
Farahani is an extremely high upside prospect that could explode in Hutch Ward Hutch Ward 6'8" | PF Kalamazoo Central | 2023 State MI fashion next high school season. He’s an athletic guard with a nice positional size and frame. Farahani sees the court well and can play effectively at any speed.
Eric Hobson Jr. (2023, CG, Livonia Franklin)
Hobson Jr. is an underrated prospect that some college coaches will want to take advantage of the opportunity to see. He’s a smooth scorer that can finish at the rim as well as get hot with his jumper. Hobson Jr. is a versatile guard that can play on or off the ball.
Jonathan Mikhalov (2023, CG, Walled Lake Central)
Mikhalov is a name to remember as you head to the DC Elite Summer League on Wednesday. He has the look of a shooter at heart and can be dangerous when he starts grooving his jumper. Mikhalov could be a nice fit for a coach at the next level.
Deunte Phifer Deunte Phifer 6'4" | SG Lansing Waverly | 2024 State MI (2024, SG, Lansing Waverly)
Phifer is having a terrific spring and early summer. He’s a huge part of all the talk about Lansing Waverly right now. Phifer is a 2 way player that can come up with stops on defense and has a pretty jumper with range.
Dwayne Ray Jr. (2023, PG, North Farmington)
Ray Jr. is coming off a really nice junior season that probably deserves more credit and notoriety for. What caught my eye was his consistency on the offensive end. He consistently put up solid numbers and didn’t need to be shot dominant to do so. I also like Ray’s ability to effect the game, with or without the ball in his hands.
Tamir Runinkevich Tamir Runinkevich 6'2" | SG Berkley | 2023 State MI (2023, SG, Berkley)
Runinkevich can flat out score the basketball. He can get HOT from behind the arc and is a game changer when he does. After seeing Runinkevich in Grand Rapids on the Prep Hoops Circuit, I can guarantee that he will skyrocket up the rankings.
Dorian Walker-Berry Dorian Walker-Berry 6'7" | PF Detroit Edison | 2023 State MI (2023, PF, Detroit Edison)
Walker-Berry is a talented post prospect that just plain old gets the job done. He uses his strong legs and physicality to earn position in the paint. Walker-Berry turns that position in the paint into defensive and offensive rebounds as well as high percentage put backs and looks at the rim.
Curtis Williams Curtis Williams 6'5" | SF Brother Rice | 2023 State #93 Nation MI (2023, SF, Brother Rice)
Williams is an elite wing on a national level. He has so many tools including positional strength and a disciplined game. Williams should be considered a must see player in Michigan this season.
