Continue ReadingA lot of attention here in the state of Indiana this week is on the annual Indiana vs. Kentucky All-Star series. However, on a national scale, all eyes are focused on Las Vegas where the 20th annual Pangos All-American Camp is taking place. I’ll be providing coverage throughout the three day event primarily focusing on the three Indiana High School Basketball prospects Xavier Booker Xavier Booker 6'11" | PF Cathedral | 2023 State #4 Nation IN (Cathedral H.S. 2023), Garwey Dual Garwey Dual 6'5" | PG Carmel | 2023 #113 Nation CA-S (Carmel H.S. 2023), and K.J. Windham K.J. Windham 6'3" | PG Ben Davis | 2024 State #137 Nation IN (Ben Davis H.S. 2024) as well as La Lumiere backcourt duo Jeremy Fears Jeremy Fears 6'1" | PG La Lumiere | 2023 GA and Aden Holloway Aden Holloway 5'11" | PG Sussex Hamilton | 2023 #60 Nation CA-N . If you would like to follow the action Monday and Tuesday you can find the livestream link on BallerTV. Here are some notes from Sunday evening’s round of games out in Las Vegas.
- It didn’t take long for Xavier Booker Xavier Booker 6'11" | PF Cathedral | 2023 State #4 Nation IN (Cathedral H.S. 2023) to become one of the stars of the event. The 5-star 6’11″ forward showed off why he catapulted all the way to #4 in the 247Sports rankings update. Booker was a constant presence around the basket finishing several dunks on dump off passes, rim runs, and rolls to the rim. Then, for a stretch in the second half, he flashed that other-worldly potential. Over the course of just a few minutes, Booker rattled off four pick-and-pop three-pointers. He unofficially finished with 22 points in the game and was one of the top performers from night one at the Pangos All-American Camp.
- Playing against Booker in the first round of games on Sunday evening was 6’1″ guard K.J. Windham K.J. Windham 6'3" | PG Ben Davis | 2024 State #137 Nation IN (Ben Davis H.S. 2024). The lefty knocked in a pair of three-pointers and had a transition finish for eight points in his team’s victory. He certainly looked like he belonged on the court against some of the best competition the country has to offer.
- Garwey Dual Garwey Dual 6'5" | PG Carmel | 2023 #113 Nation CA-S (Carmel H.S. 2023) didn’t get much going offensively for himself, but showed his ability to impact the game in other areas. Generally, that is where he excels anyway. The 6’5″ guard helped the rebounding efforts, dished out a couple of nice assists on paint touches, and had a pair of steals using his length to disrupt the ball handler.
- Along with Booker, another show-stealer from Sunday evening was Aden Holloway Aden Holloway 5'11" | PG Sussex Hamilton | 2023 #60 Nation CA-N (La Lumiere 2023). The 4-star point guard was lighting it up from deep, showed off his quickness getting down hill to the rim, and made plays for his teammates as well. Holloway has taken an official visit to Tennessee. Big time talent in the backcourt.
- Speaking of talent in the backcourt, Holloway’s teammate Jeremy Fears Jeremy Fears 6'1" | PG La Lumiere | 2023 GA (La Lumiere 2023) was playmaking on night one. The Michigan State commit was deadly in the pick-and-roll with Xavier Booker Xavier Booker 6'11" | PF Cathedral | 2023 State #4 Nation IN . Fears is so explosive with the ball in his hands and is really hard to guard off of the dribble. Michigan State fans got really excited seeing those two play together on Sunday night.
