Pangos AA Camp Preview: Local Players To Watch

<p>The 2022 Pangos All American Camp takes place Sunday, July 5th through Tuesday, July 7th. The Camp, hosted by recruiting legend Dinos Trigons is one of the top exposure events of the summer, featuring several of the top prospects in the nation. The camp takes place at Bishop Gorman High School and consists of skills and drills training and camp games. Several local players will be participating in the event. In this article, we take a look at some local players to watch. </p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="986955" first="DJ" last="Thomas"] <em>6’1 PG Liberty 2024</em> <em>(#1PHN 2024)</em> - Thomas is coming off leading the Patriots to the 5A crown and is spending his summer playing with the Addidas Dream Vision program. The lefty is known for his high IQ, and passing skills, however, he may have a few new tricks in his bag for this one. Thomas will get a chance to show off his handle in this more wide-open style, and don’t be surprised if he shows off his new and improved bounce. </p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="1110114" first="John" last="Mobley Jr"] <em>5’11 PG Bishop Gorman 2024</em> <em>(#5PHN 2025)</em> - Mobley will get a chance to show off his all-world shooting. Don’t be surprised if you hear some ohh’s and ahh’s coming from his court as the PG has a tendency to be electrifying with his shooting. It’s no surprise that the sniper PG is playing on the same day as Steph Curry, as his mannerisms, and long-range shooting, remind you of the Golden State Legend. Mobley is quickly becoming a local legend, and a strong performance inside his home gym will only add to his legacy. </p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="986959" first="Ryder" last="Elisaldez"] <em>6’3 SG Bishop Gorman 2024</em> <em>(#9PHN 2024)</em> - Elidaldez is a big-time athlete and in a wide-open free-flowing contest, I expect him to do some damage. His strength is his driving and slashing ability and he is a sneaky playmaker with the ability to make precision passes. With his R&amp;J ability, don’t be surprised if he catches a body or two at the event. </p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="856637" first="Sebastian" last="Mack"] <em>6’4 SG Acellus 2023 (#1PHN 2023)</em> - The Mack is back, and ready to prove once and for all that he’s one of the top players in his class. For my money, the SG is underrated and doesn’t get enough credit for the efficiency with which he scores the ball. Mack had a 50-ball at Braggin Rights a week ago and is going to be a threat to be one of the leading scorers at the event. I’m not really interested in seeing him do anything other than what he does which is getting buckets at a microwave pace. </p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1129386" first="Pharaoh" last="Compton"]</strong> <em>6’6 SF Compass Prep 2024</em> - Technically Compton is an out-of-state player after relocating to Phoenix, however, he’ll always be Vegas’ own. The high flying forward will fit right in at the camp, and his ability to run and jump should attract some eyeballs. The lefty mainly plays with his back to the basket, or rim running in transition. I’m interested in seeing what other dimensions of his game he’s added since relocating to the Valley of the Sun. </p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="989242" first="Osiris" last="Grady"]<em> 6’8 PF Coronado 2023</em> <em>(#2PHN 2023)</em> - This could be a major coming-out party for Grady. He possesses the size, length, and athleticism to dominate down low, and his ability to fluidly run the floor could make him a threat. My big question is how much time will he spend down low, vs on the perimeter?
