Pete Ragusa immediately stood out as a natural creator of offense and scoring opportunities within the flow of things but his most impressive skill set had to be his well-polished three-point prowess. Ragusa showed off a gorgeous shooting stroke along with his pure ability for getting open without the help of off-ball screens, often finding openings in the corner or far out on the wings. Pete’s shot-making was crucial for the Texas Future Basketball, especially late in tight games where came up big generating and nailing deep jumpers off the dribble, and while coming around a screen, Ragusa seemed automatic from long range, a missed shot attempt was rare for him. One of Pete Ragusa’s best traits was his leadership qualities on and off the floor, he stays focused and concentrated on the task at hand at all times, Pete was even locked in and ready to go well before games began. Noteworthy prospect, this kid shows a lot of promise and potential as a college athlete.

One of Houston’s most exciting point guards, Angel Sonnier Angel Sonnier 5'11" | PG Katy Mayde Creek | 2023 State TX came through and put on a show. This elite paint touch guard couldn’t be stopped off the dribble, Sonnier was able to get inside the lane at will, scoring through and around contact and drawing foul calls seemingly easy, Angel attacked the rack with power and aggression before taking an explosive leap in the air. Whenever a bucket was needed you could count on Angel Sonnier Angel Sonnier 5'11" | PG Katy Mayde Creek | 2023 State TX to make it happen, his top-notch shot creation skills were probably the best in the gym. He showed the special ability to take over a game in the second half by carrying the scoring load and making his man a nonfactor on the defensive end.
Gunter Daniels Gunter Daniels 6'6" | SF Liberty Hill | 2023 State TX | SG | Liberty Hill HS | ATX Lockdown 17U
Gunter Daniels Gunter Daniels 6'6" | SF Liberty Hill | 2023 State TX played with a fantastic feel for the game and phenomenal instincts on both sides of the ball. Daniels displayed the ability to do it all and get to any spot on the floor, the game seems like it has slowed down for him to the point where he’s capable of making a play even when it seems like nothing is there. The 6-foot-6 guard was unstoppable off the dribble from all angles due to his smooth first step and burst of quickness out of his hesitation dribble and when coming around a pick, Daniels also showed great balance when attacking the baseline. He was an impressively natural playmaker with poise and the capability of controlling the game at his own speed and pace while never allowing the defense to rush him or make him uncomfortable. Incredible court vision and excellent anticipation as a distributor, Gunter showed off the ability to make every pass and even make some of the toughest throws through some of the tightest windows. Evan Chatman Evan Chatman 6'8" | SF Harker Heights | 2023 State TX | SG / SF | Harker Heights HS | ATX Lockdown 17U
Texas-ranked prospect, Evan Chatman Evan Chatman 6'8" | SF Harker Heights | 2023 State TX , truly excelled at the role of a three-point specialist this past weekend. The 6-foot-7 sharpshooter was firing from all cylinders, knocking it down off the catch, quickly getting down the floor to an opening beyond the arc after defensive rebounds, and consistently set feet for spot-up jumpers. Each shot Chatman took was in rhythm and on balance, eventually, he began hitting three-pointers in bunches on consecutive possessions from different areas behind the perimeter, showing a high-level talent for spreading the floor. Evan might’ve been the most reliable shooter of them all, he’s someone who’s constantly prepared for the kick-out after offensive rebounds, he catches the ball and immediately goes up with a fluid, smooth, and consistent jump shooting motion. The thing that set Evan Chatman Evan Chatman 6'8" | SF Harker Heights | 2023 State TX apart from all of the other shooters was his knack for knocking down contested jumpers off the catch and the pull-up. This young man clearly puts a heavy amount of work on his shooting stroke which has led to him being very efficient and able to make the most out of the opportunities he gets. Chatman’s excellent mechanics, quick-trigger, high release point, and positioning of his body and feet when stepping into his jumpshot played a large part in the team’s success throughout the weekend, as well as his own success from beyond the arc, this type of skillset will assist him tremendously at the college level.
Aydan Peerdue | SF | Katy HS | Big Basketball Academy
6-foot-5 forward, Aydan Peerdue was always in attack mode whenever the ball was in his hands. Peerdue blew through dribble handoffs looking to get all the way to the rack in an instant and oftentimes he either got the layup or picked up the foul which Aydan did at a consistent and high rate. When penetrating Peerdue displayed a nice lane runner that allowed him to rise up and float the ball over the interior defense. With his back to the basket, the agile forward did an amazing job of feeling the body of his man before spinning off of them or turning the corner around their hip. Peerdue’s off-ball IQ, instincts, and intangibles were fantastic, he noticed how to create and exploit a mismatch usually by setting down screens before posting up and establishing himself on the block. When the time came, Aydan Peerdue proved to be a huge playmaker that was capable of producing clutch and game-changing plays on both ends of the floor.
