Here is part 2 of the June AAU update for players who have stood out.

Ryan Manning, Mass Elite, Class 2025, Position Wing

Ryan does what ever the team needs him to do, to help them win. Ryan may have taken the most charges of anyone I have seen this spring. Every coach loves players who take charges. Ryan is a hustler, and is always the first player to dive on the floor for a ball. He can knock down shots, attack the basket, and is very aggressive on the glass. He played varsity as a freshman this past high school season, and should take a bigger role next year. This AAU season he is really raising his stock.

Jake Peterson, Rise Above Class 2023, HT 6’5, position Wing

Jake is a high percentage three point shooter. He has had games this spring with 7 three pointers, shooting 70 percent from three. Jake can get his shot off from anywhere, and has long range. He has a quick release, and can hit shots with high defensive pressure. Jake is a high basketball IQ player, who finds ways to get open. He comes hard off screens, and always cuts with a purpose.

[player_tooltip player_id="1354564" first="Noah" last="Beaudet"], Middlesex Magic, Class 2023, Position G, HT 6’0

Noah came off a strong high school season, and has picked off right where he left off this AAU season. Noah is a playmaker, and plays with a high motor. He has a good basketball instinct, and always seems to be in the right place, at the right time. Noah can be a facilitator, and also a scorer. He is a knockdown three point shooter. I think Noah takes good shots, and I’m impressed with his shot selections. Noah plays bigger than his size. On defense he is able to guard multiple positions, even if they are taller than him. AAU and high school basketball are different styles, but I have been impressed watching Noah play in both.

Troy Maccall, ASA, Class 2023, Position PG,

Troy is a skilled point guard who can control the pace of the game. He can stop on a dime and play at many different speeds. He has a very good hesitation move, and crossover. His ability to changes speeds, gets the defenders off balance. He is good in transition, and in pick and rolls as well. He is not the biggest player on the floor, but his crafty skill set makes up for it.

[player_tooltip player_id="1081866" first="Gavin" last="Carter"], Middlesex Magic, Position PG, Class 2023

Gavin is a true point guard, who is pass first, but also has the ability to be a shot maker. He is a lefty, but he is almost as good going to his right. Gavin does a lot of the intangibles well. He is a leader, and that is something you want from your teams floor general. He is always communicating on the floor, and has a good attitude. Gavin is a player with the game for the college level.
