From highly ranked players to sleeper prospects that many have not heard of, let’s take a look at some the latest recruitment news in the state.
Jamison Jumps to Milwaukee! The #2 ranked and best unsigned prospect in the state is finally off the board as he recently announced his commitment to The University of Milwaukee. Elijah Jamison Elijah Jamison 6'3" | PG Liberty Heights | 2022 State #204 Nation NC originally chose the ECU Pirates but reopened his recruitment and will take his talent to go play for Coach Lundy who has already established a nice recruitment pipeline with multiple signees from NC.
Justin Burden Justin Burden 6'4" | SF Cape Fear | 2022 State NC is a Bishop! The Cape Fear HS Standout made his college choice official as he signed with North Carolina Wesleyan with week. There is plenty to like about his game and upside, he is a 6’5 W/F that has been well coached and is only scratching the surface of what he can potentially be.
South Central sends two more to the next level! Over the years South Central HS has put together some successful seasons but they also have done a great job sending players to the next level. This week they added to more to the list as Guards Omar Harris Omar Harris 6'4" | CG South Central | 2022 State NC and Joseph Thompson both made college commitments. Thompson made his decision to attend ECSU while Harris will make his way down to Buies Creek to become a Campbell University Fighting Camel.
Another Jacksonville Area Standout is headed to William Peace! Jacksonville HS Dual sport standout Shawn Jones will play out his college career at William Peace University after putting together some impressive years at Jacksonville HS. Jones is an athletic player that can put the ball in the bucket at a high rate when needed but also can be a high impact player on the defensive end of the floor.
