How Did They Get Here: Edmond North
Edmond North is back in the state tournament due to a stacked starting lineup and a suffocating zone defense.
The Huskies have a starting lineup filled with college basketball prospects. Marques Wilson is a talented SG who can get hot from three and his is also an excellent rebounder. The Lehigh commit has a college ready body which allows him to bang down low.
Carlos Coppage is a transfer who came in and immediately took over as the point guard. Coppage has added a scorer but he also has commanded the offense with a lot of talented players around him.
Will Boyd has been an unsung hero for Edmond North because of his defense and motor. Boyd somehow finds a way to get his hands on the ball. He has good size at 6’4 to play the four spot and he is all over the floor making plays no one else are willing to do.
Harrison Stoddart plays the stretch 5 position who has done a great job of hitting shots from the perimeter and protecting the rim. The OBU commit has consistently outplayed opposing bigs all season.
Marvin Johnson has been the game changer for the Huskies this season. Johnson brings an element to this Edmond North team that they haven’t had before. At 6’5, Johnson is a legit wing who can handle the ball and is great in transition. His length is one of the reasons why the Huskies zone defense is so lethal.
Edmond North boasts 24-2 record and was previously ranked in the USA Today Top 25. The Huskies are back in the state tournament with possibly the best starting lineup in Oklahoma.
