I headed out to Hollywood McArthur to watch the T.O.C. All-Star practice. The Tournament of Champions game will be held on Saturday. The following players are some of the best South Florida has to offer. Please click here for further information regarding the event.

The listed roster is as follows:

Head Coach: Warren Gale (Team Sand-Viper)

[player_tooltip player_id="955771" first="Andrew" last="Akuchie"] - St. Thomas Aquinas (Not at Monday’s practice) (Rice commit)

Michael Cooper - Forest Hill

[player_tooltip player_id="1161408" first="Juwan" last="Dawes"] - Dwyer

Terrell Edwards - Wellington

[player_tooltip player_id="955774" first="Kolby" last="King"] - Pembroke Pines Charter (St. John’s commit)

[player_tooltip player_id="814913" first="Esteban" last="Lluberes"] - Riviera Prep (Lynn commit)

[player_tooltip player_id="814912" first="Jimel" last="Lane"] - Miami Palmetto (Not at Monday’s practice)

Johaun Myles - McArthur

Brenden Williams - Wellington

[player_tooltip player_id="829389" first="Elijah" last="Wyche"] - Pembroke Pines Charter

[player_tooltip player_id="1060179" first="Mason" last="Brown"]- Forest Hill

*Other players who participated were 2022’s Nate Hickman and Jamal Billingsley*

Observations:

2022 [player_tooltip player_id="829389" first="Elijah" last="Wyche"] looked impressive throughout the night. The 6-foot-5 wing hit a bunch of mid-range jumpers during scrimmage play. Wyche is very athletic and has a strong frame. Therefore, he can score off putbacks and be effective around the rim. Wyche was working on his outside shot during breaks. The more he can knock down those, the better he will be. In my view, Wyche has all the looks of a D-1 player.

[player_tooltip player_id="1060179" first="Mason" last="Brown"] - Forest Hill

I liked what I saw from [player_tooltip player_id="1060179" first="Mason" last="Brown"] out of Forest Hill. Brown has good size at 6-foot-4 at the guard spot. I thought he played aggressive and physical on drive attempts during scrimmage play. Therefore, Brown could get into the second level of the paint and finish. I also liked what I saw from him as a passer. Brown has good awareness and found teammates cutting underneath the basket. He averaged 8.3 points and 4.6 rebounds per game this season.

Brenden Williams - Wellington

2022 Brenden Williams is a really good shooter. The 6-foot guard was scoring from all three levels during runs. Williams’ 3-point shot was especially money. He has a compact frame and played aggressive throughout drills. Specifically, I thought he played well off the drive and finish. Williams averaged 15.6 points per game and knocked down 42 3-pointers this season for the Wolverines.

Terell Edwards - Wellington

Another Wellington prospect I liked was Terell Edwards. The 6-foot-6 forward moves well with the ball and has plenty of length. Edwards can score above the rim using his athleticism. In addition, his frame allows him to be an effective rebounder. He averaged 8.2 points and 7.9 rebounds per game for Wellington. I also thought 2022 [player_tooltip player_id="1161408" first="Juwan" last="Dawes"] was also active around the glass. The 6-foot-4 forward averaged over 10.5 points and 5.4 rebounds for Dwyer. Both players have offensive/defensive versatility in my view.

[player_tooltip player_id="814913" first="Esteban" last="Lluberes"] - Riviera Prep

2022 [player_tooltip player_id="814913" first="Esteban" last="Lluberes"] is a terrific outside shooter. The 5-foot-9 point guard was knocking down consecutive long shots throughout the night. Lluberes has a quick release and automatic green light in these situations. He also has great finesse and body control when attacking the basket. Lluberes was going at it with 2022 [player_tooltip player_id="955774" first="Kolby" last="King"] during practice. He is committed to Lynn University.
