<p>The WVSSAC Boys State Tourney is underway here in Charleston. Let’s look into some of the opening day results from the Class A ranks right here. </p>
<p>Tucker County HS (Hambleton) defeated Pendleton County HS (Franklin) in the opener 59-45. This was the 3rd meeting between the two schools this season. The Mountain Lions were led in scoring by <strong>Haden Wamsley</strong> with 17 points. Sophomore <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1408507" first="Owen" last="Knotts"]</strong> finished with 12 points and 10 rebounds in the win.</p>

<p>The Wildcats finished the season at (19-4). <strong>Clayton Kisamore</strong> finished with 14 points, <strong>Cole Day</strong> 10 points and<strong> [player_tooltip player_id="1408516" first="Jacob" last="Beachler"]</strong> 7 points and added 7 blocks.</p>

<p>Great Beckley Christian the 7th seed defeated defending Class A State Champion Man HS 63-57. The Crusaders had to forfeit 9 wins after using an ineligible player will Tucker County HS in the semifinals. Greater Beckley Christian (6-20) were led in scoring by <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1408506" first="Kendrick" last="Wilson"]</strong> with 20 points, <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="977590" first="Kaden" last="Smallwood"]</strong> 18 points and <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1051595" first="John" last="Rose"]</strong> 11 points. </p>
<p>The Man HS Hillbillies finish the season at (22-3) under Head Coach T.J. Blevins. Radford baseball signee <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="977613" first="Caleb" last="Blevins"]</strong> led the Hillbillies with 20 points. <strong>Aden Martin</strong> added 18 points while <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="977620" first="Jeremiah" last="Harless"]</strong> chipped in with 11 points and 11 rebounds. Harlee fouled out with 3:59 left in the game with the Hillbillies leading 55-48. </p>
<p>The Crusaders finished the game on a 15-2 run to advance to the semifinals on Thursday. </p>

<p>The James Monroe HS (Lindside) had little problems with Madonna HS (Weirton) 83-46 in the opening round. The Mavericks move to (26-0) on the season while the Blue Dons finish the year at (18-7). The Mavericks jumped out to 36-10 halftime lead and never looked back. Junior <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1051586" first="Eli" last="Allen"]</strong> finished the game with 20 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="977605" first="Shad" last="Sauvage"]</strong> finished with 16 points, <strong>Josh Burks</strong> 11 points and <strong>Collin Fox</strong> 10 points. </p>
<p>Madonna HS which is located 292 miles away from James Monroe HS on opposite ends of the state were led in scoring by <strong>Anthony Mascio</strong> with 12 points and <strong>Evan Bone</strong> contributed 11 points. </p>
<p>#4 Huntington St Joes defeated #5 Cameron HS 71-62 in the last Class A of the day. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="977614" first="Zavion" last="Johnson"]</strong> and <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="977595" first="Jesse" last="Muncy"]</strong> led the way with 19 points apiece in the win. <strong>Caden Ehirim</strong> added 17 points and 7 rebounds</p>
<p>The Dragons were led in scoring by<strong> Lance Hartley</strong> with 18 points and 11 rebounds while <strong>Trevor Beresford</strong> 17 points and 20 rebounds. </p>
