The Longhorn guard is the top scorer amongst seniors this season. Finishing the season at 25.2 points per game, Critel leads his team in scoring as well as assists with 3.5 per game and steals 3.3 a game. The senior’s final game of this season put on his best performance of the season. Dropping 39 buckets, and hitting seven triples, leading the Longhorns to victory over Twin Loup. The final game was the guard’s third straight 30-point game. Critel has eclipsed the 30 mark six times this season. On defense, he’s a pest racking up seven steals in one game earlier this season. The 6-foot-1 guard attacks the boards averaging 6.6 rebounds this season, he’s chimed in 5 double-doubles this season. The Longhorns 20-3 have a well-balanced squad to make a deep run in the postseason led by their senior guard.
Oakley Rosno Oakley Rosno 5'7" | PG Silver Lake | 2022 State NE | 5’8 G | Silver Lake
The shifty guard is very good at scoring. Proof this year leading the Mustangs in scoring at 22.9 points per game. A good sharpshooter, the senior is shooting 33 percent from the arc this season. The 5-foot-8 guard erupted for 37 points earlier this season against Lawrence-Nelson. Pour in 35 and 36 points twice more later in the season. Rosno, a very good defender leads team in steal with 3.9 per game. A small guard, he still able rumble in the paint averaging 4.1 rebounds per game. The Mustang senior also gets his teammates involved averaging 4.2 assists a game leading his team. A true point guard that takes care of the ball, Rosno is averaging two assists to ever turnover while playing. The senior has led his Mustangs to a 14-8 record this season and kicks off their district play today.
Brayden McPhail Brayden McPhail 5'10" | PG Lincoln East | 2022 State NE | 5’10 G | Lincoln East/Lincoln Supreme 17U National 1
A pass first guard, McPhail 4.0 assists is top three in Class A and leads the Spartans. A guard that takes care of the ball, the senior averaged two assists to ever turnover for the season.
A big seven assist game at the beginning of the season follow by many six assists games capped off with season high nine assists in the final game. A capable scorer when called upon, scoring 17 points against Lincoln Southwest early this year. The Spartans and Mcphail are 13-8 going into districts, the sharing guard looking to get teammates ready for the postseason play.
Myles Hoehne Myles Hoehne 6'2" | SG Lincoln Southwest | 2022 State NE | 6’2 G | Lincoln Southwest/Lincoln Supreme 17U National 2
An athletic guard that does it all for the Titans. The senior leads the team with 11 points and 2.7 assists. The 6-foot-2 guard crashed the boards hard for a wing player, averaging 7.2 rebounds per game second on his squad. Playing above the rim for boards, the senior snagged in 7 rebounds and added in 7 assists in his final game of the season. A big jump up in scoring for the senior this year, averaged 3.2 points last season the senior has almost triple that in his final year. Scoring outburst a few times this season dropping a season high 21 points against Waverly earlier this season.
Jarred Novotny Jarred Novotny 6'0" | CG Clarkson | 2022 State NE | 6’0 G | Clarkson
The senior guard poured in an outstanding year leading the Patriots to a 17-5 record, Jarred leads the teams in scoring at 14.8 points per game. A leader on the team, the guard scoring is relied on heavy for the team’s success. Scoring a season high 27 points in a narrow lost to West Point-Beemer, the scoring guard scored more than half of his teams’ points. An above average efficient scorer, the 6-foot guard scored over 25 points four times this season while shooting over 40 percent each game. Third on the team in assists and rebounds, the senior usage is very high for the Patriots. With Districts starting the Patriots and Jarred look to continue the well play into the postseason.
