Dual of the Night- Keller Hurla Keller Hurla 6'0" | CG St. Marys | 2023 State KS vs Landon Boss Landon Boss 6'1" | SF Osage City | 2023 State KS
It is safe to say that seeing two guys in the same game on opposing sides in a high school game combine for 95 points is one of the rarest things you will ever witness watching hoops.
Keller Hurla Keller Hurla 6'0" | CG St. Marys | 2023 State KS , 6’ G, 2023, St Marys: Simply put, the best shooting display anyone will see all season, going 13 of 17 from the three point line and knocking down 10 free throws during the game. Hurla finished with 51 points, FIFTY ONE, in the ball game. His threes came from all over the floor, pushing off the bounce in transition and pulling up, shooting it off skip passes, drive and kick opportunities, and sizing up closeouts. His shot release is so fast, contests meant nothing last night. The stock continues to soar for the junior guard. Did not need to do much in the mid range game, but had two beautiful runners attacking hard closeouts.
Landon Boss Landon Boss 6'1" | SF Osage City | 2023 State KS , 6’2 F, 2023, Osage City: For 2 and half quarters Boss single handedly kept Osage City in the game and was spectacular. Based on the broadcast and stat book, Boss had 38 of Osage City’s first 42 points, totaling 90% of their scoring offense. Boss finished with 44 points in ball game and was simply terrific. Boss is a smaller forward but extremely strong and has a quick first step. Scored off of angles and constantly moving without the ball to find openings, and Boss was as electric from the perimeter for a half and part of the third quarter as Hurls drilling a ton of trailer threes and face up jumpers. The Boss vs Hurla battle was a fun one.
The Stars Shine
TJ Williams TJ Williams 6'5" | SG Wichita Heights | 2024 State #176 Nation KS , 6’4 G, 2024, Wichita Heights: The #1 player in the class of 2024 showed up big last night to help his club improve to 15-2 on the year. Heights in coming in HOT down the stretch and playing some high level basketball, and it comes with the explosion of Williams in the last couple of weeks. Elite level length, athleticism, explosiveness, handle, and shot making, Williams finished with 23 points last night. The guard is also a terrific rebounder which allows him to push his own breaks, finished with 7 boards on the game.
Kaeden Bonner Kaeden Bonner 6'1" | SG Seaman | 2023 State KS , 6’2 G, 2023, Seaman: Bonner exploded for 26 points last night in a win over Topeka High. Bonner is starting to get rolling here as of late and his scoring from the perimeter could prove to be a massive X-Factor down the stretch. Is a 20+ point per game talent and last night showed us why.
Zion Young Zion Young 6'2" | CG Life Prep | 2023 State KS , 6’2 G, 2023, Campus (Pictured): The #35 ranked player in 2023 announced last night that he is HERE. Expect the stock to continue to soar with a solid playoff run for Campus. Young’s explosiveness was on full display last night as a break away electric flush capped off a 23 point night for him. A guard with a lot of tools in the arsenal and plays with a ton of passion that allows him to make a bunch of plays.
Harrison Voth Harrison Voth 6'1" | SG Cheney | 2022 State KS , 6’1 G, Cheney, 2022: The certified bucket from Cheney had 29 points on the night continuing his terrific senior campaign. Is a legit three level scorer of the basketball and has a little bit of everything in his offensive package from the guard spot.
Jinwoo Kim Jinwoo Kim 6'1" | PG Blue Valley Southwest | 2022 State KS , 6’3 PG, 2022, Blue Valley Southwest: BVSW picked up a massive win last night and Kim was as impactful as ever dropping 28 in the ball game and was getting it done all over the floor. Was thriving off the bounce in transition, got in on the offensive rebound put back game, broke guys down off the bounce, and knocked down catch and shoot balls.
