Following a scoreless first half, Grant helped carry Madison County to the finish line in the Navy Bracket Championship, scoring all 14 of his points in the second half to lead the Red Raiders to a 61-60 OT win. Smith did all his damage without hitting a three. He scored downhill on five drives – two And-1 takes. Grant got going with a one-dribble pull-up and was able to contribute aside from scoring, collecting 4 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals.

has been a key contributor for them since he stepped into high school. I think Smith is one of the most lethal shooters in the state, if not the most. He’s got a quick trigger and doesn’t need a ton of space to get it off. In his sophomore year, he’s proven to be much more than a shooter and has shown impressive strides as a passer. Smith’s size and athleticism check the boxes as well.

Grant was on a heater in the second quarter, a 16-point explosion which featured four of his five threes, helping the Red Raiders seize control. Smith poured in 23 of his 27 points in the first half to go with his 7 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal and 1 block. Grant shot North Oconee out of their vaunted matchup zone, nailing deep threes with his smooth quick release. Smith has good size on the perimeter and is solid playmaker when forced to put the ball on the floor when ran off the three-point line. His shot making will undoubtedly draw college attention. Smith has a chance to make waves this year in the state playoffs.
