I finalize Southwest Ohio District previews by looking at Division IV. Besides maybe Division I, D-IV is the deepest division with several teams that can make an argument to win a District title in Southwest Ohio.

Southwest 1

Top Teams: Tri-Village, Cincinnati College Prep, Fayetteville-Perry

Possible Sleeper: Franklin Monroe- There isn’t many teams that pop off the page as sleepers, but the Jets could pull a minor upset over Twin Valley South should they face off and then have another familiar foe in Tri-Village.

District Final: Tri-Village over Fayetteville- This will feature a great matchup between [player_tooltip player_id="967174" first="Layne" last="Sarver"] and [player_tooltip player_id="1082242" first="Jayden" last="Bradshaw"] to head to the Regionals. While both teams have been here before, I give the nod to the Patriots with their guard play in [player_tooltip player_id="1201864" first="Dalton" last="DeLong"] and Wilson Suggs.

Southwest 2

Top Teams: Botkins, Felicity-Franklin, Russia

Sleeper: Russia- The Raiders are on a crash course to face off with Botkins for a 3rd time this season. While they are young, Russia has familiarity with the Trojans and will certainly try to play slow paced basketball to try and win.

District Final: Botkins over Felicity-Franklin- The Cardinals feature one of the best scorers in the SBAAC in Carson Crozier, but they haven’t seen a defensive team like Botkins led by [player_tooltip player_id="1165701" first="Carter" last="Pleiman"] and [player_tooltip player_id="1045457" first="Jacob" last="Pleiman"]. Botkins is the defending state champions and should cruise.

Southwest 3

Top Teams: Springfield Catholic Central, Jackson Center, Cedarville, Troy Christian

Sleeper: Troy Christian- The Eagles have been an under the radar team this year on the state level and can use this District to show they belong in conversations. The Eagles are young but they play defensive basketball and play together, two ingredients needed to win in the postseason.

District Final: Springfield Catholic Central over Troy Christian- Troy Christian just beat the Irish last week 49-42 which left a sour taste in Catholic Central’s mouth. Having a force offensively in Tyler Galluch makes Catholic Central a dangerous team against. While Troy Christian is the safe pick, their youth will ultimately hold them back from advancing further.
