Since we’re taking our time and watching closely who belongs in the rankings, we’ve got our eye on several players who just missed this round of additions.
Check out who’s on our Small School ‘Watch List’ (in alphabetical order):
Brock Keith, 5-foot-10 guard, 2024, Meade:
Keith played a lot as a freshman, averaging 8.0 points per game. This year, he leads the Buffaleos in scoring and rebounding from the guard spot. He is scoring 14.1 points per game, with 5.4 rebounds, 2.3 steals to boot.
Eli Lang, 6-foot guard, 2024, Minneola:
Like Keith, Lang got a ton of experience as a freshman, averaging 9.6 points and 5.3 rebounds per game. The sophomore is doing it all this season, putting up 12.4 points and 9.0 rebounds and dishing out 3.8 assists per contest
Trent Long Trent Long 6'5" | PF Hill City | 2023 State KS , 5-foot-7 guard, 2024, Clifton-Clyde:
Clifton-Clyde is ranked #9 in 1A Div. I, and Long is a big reason for that success. He provides 12.1 points, 3.0 rebounds and 2.3 steals to the Eagles, who hope to make a run in the playoffs.
Colter McDaniel, 2024, Attica:
Senior Xander Newberry Xander Newberry 6'0" | PG Attica | 2022 State KS has a running mate in McDaniel. The multi-sport standout is scoring 13.5 points per game.
Rylan Williams, 2024, Rolla:
Rolla has struggled this season, but Williams has been a bright spot, leading the team in scoring with 12.4 points per game, and in rebounds with a 5.0 average. Rolla is employing a lot of young players and might just improve a lot as these youngsters grow up.
