This article covers the top wings/forwards I saw from this past week in Columbus. I went to Heath at Licking Heights on Tuesday night, where they won 65-42, and then on Saturday night, I was in the building for Hillard Davidson’s game-winner over Dublin Coffman giving them the 52-50 win.

McLaughlin was dominant on Tuesday night against Licking Heights. The strong 6’8 forward for Heath was a problem for the smaller Licking Heights team. He is a long and athletic big that can add even more muscle. He had multiple and-1s through contact. He also showed off his almost unstoppable right-handed hook shot as well. Simple just elevate over defenders to put the basket in. I like this kid’s game a lot. He showed he can shoot it as well on Tuesday as he knocked down some jumpers.

[player_tooltip player_id="848282" first="Jayden" last="Nervis"] has all the tools. He is tall and very long with great athleticism and has a nice shot. He was very aggressive against Dublin Coffman. Getting to the rim very well by using his length and tight handles. Gives the defense a flurry of moves then blows by. He is a great acrobatic finisher. He has strong takes as well. He is a driver first but also has a very nice and smooth jumper I would love to see him use more.

[player_tooltip player_id="1052784" first="Peyton" last="Frey"] (2023). F 6’6.
Peyton has a very nice and strong post-game. He has great patience and footwork. He uses his patient pivot very well on finding the right crease and angle to get his shot up close. Frey is a right-hand dominant finisher but can do it with both. He moves very well and doesn’t get moved off his spot in the post. I also loved his rebounding ability. Showed a lot of toughness.

He is the fourth scoring option for them, which is scary. Guy is a very long and athletic guard. He has some serious bounce and showed it off as scored the game’s first two points off an alley-oop dunk from a BLOB play on a Licking Heights defender. He has a slow but pretty nice shoot. He hits the open shots he is giving. He hit a very big three in the fourth quarter to stop Licking Heights momentum. Gives a lot of energy on both ends of the floor and uses his length very well on the defensive end.
