Kaysinger Conference Tournament: Top Standouts

<p>Prep Hoops Missouri took a look at the semifinals of the Kaysinger Conference Tournament via the Magical Stream Machine. It was a good opportunity to see a group of talented small-school players who are operating under the radar.</p> <p>Lincoln defeated Cole Camp in the first semifinal while Smithton defeated Sacred Heart 56-55 in a thrilling second semifinal game. Here is a look at some of the top standouts from the Kaysinger Conference semifinal game.</p> <p>2022</p> <p>Tom Tripp (Smithton): The 6'0" sharpshooter scored a game-high 26 points in the Tigers victory over Sacred Heart. He was on fire from 3-point range has he drained seven triples, with some of them coming from well beyond the 3-point line. If the defender had a hand down, it was going up.</p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="992305" first="Coen" last="Brown"] (Sacred Heart): The 6'3" scored a team-high 23 points against Smithton. Most of his buckets came on tough drives to the basket through traffic. He took the bumps and was able to score from a variety of angles in the paint. He is also a very willing passer.</p> <p>Alex Walsh (Smithton): The 6'2" guard scored 10 points in the semifinals with much of his damage done on aggressive drives to the basket. He is tough and he plays bigger than his actual size.</p> <p>Gage Cross (Cole Camp): A long and lean 6'7" lefty who can stretch the defense with his 3-point shooting. He also had an effective turn and face game where he could attack on the drive.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>2023</p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="1161298" first="Kyle" last="Eckhoff"] (Lincoln) (pictured): A versatile 6'3" guard who scored 15 points in the Cardinals victory over Cole Camp. He a nice athlete who penetrates well and can hit the pull up jumper. He is a good passer who also attacks the boards at both ends.</p> <p>Connor Lynde (Lincoln): A 6'1" guard who scored a team-high 19 points against Cole Camp. The lefty displayed a smooth shooting stroke in knocking down three 3-pointers. He also made a number of positive hustle plays and he played the passing lanes well on defense.</p> <p>Mackson Hesse (Lincoln): A 6'4" forward who scored 11 points in the semifinals against Cole Camp. He's a strong kid who scores well in the paint and can step out and hit the 3-point shot. He's a good athlete with a versatile skill set.</p> <p>Ethan Schearer (Cole Camp): A 6'1" guard who scored a team-high 14 points in the semifinals. He came on strong in the second half when he scored 11 points and kept his team competitive. He attacked the basket well, hit the pull up jumper and could come off the screen to hit the 3-pointer.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>2024</p> <p>Connor Rice (Sacred Heart): A 5'10" sharpshooter who scored 15 points on five 3-pointers in the semifinals against Smithton. He displayed deep range on his high-arching 3-point shots, which usually came at key times of the game.</p>
