SANTA ANA, Ca—In the game of the day, Harvard-Westlake would hold off a feisty Crean Lutheran 76-68. Crean Lutheran was playing without their standout point guard Darryl Morris, but super sophomore Vyctorius Miller (pictured) and Rui Han picked up the slack. However, it would not be enough as Harvard-Westlake used a balanced attack as they were led by the sharpshooting junior Brady Dunlap Brady Dunlap 6'7" | SF Harvard-Westlake | 2023 State #100 Nation CA-S with 20-points.
Multi-Dimensional
Vyctorius Miller (Crean Lutheran)
2024, G, 6-foot-5, 170 pounds
Joel’s Take: Miller started out slow due to foul trouble in the first half, but then in the 2nd half his overall game took off. Due to Darrell Morris being out, Miller took over the point guard duties and he flourished with aplomb. His handle is slick and tight and he got to where he needed to go and either facilitated or scored. He has an uncanny ability to get into the lane although physical defenders can cause him issues at times (getting bumped off his drive). He was 1-of-3 from the arc and overall his stroke is improving. Defensively, he showed off his excellent lateral quickness as well as his active hands as he snagged 3 steals.
“Big” with skill
Koat Keat Koat Keat 6'9" | PF Crean Lutheran | 2022 State #100 Nation CA-S (Crean Lutheran)
2022, PF, 6-foot-10, 220 pounds
Joel’s Take: This was one of Keat’s better performances of the season as he dropped in an efficient 17-points and grabbed 14-rebounds—not to mention he probably had the most devastating block from the weak side against Harvard-Westlake. He has good ball skills, great length, and he can finish off the drive from the elbow. Improving his jump shot from distance is the next step in his development.
Inside-Out
Parker Tuttle (Crean Lutheran)
2022, F, 6-foot-5, 200 pounds
Joel’s Take: With Morris being out, Tuttle had to step up his game—and he did. He was only 1-of-5 from the 3-point stripe, but his stroke is smooth. Despite his shot not consistently falling, he did a nice job attacking the paint and using his physicality on the defensive end.
Picking his Spots
Landon Lewis Landon Lewis 6'6" | PF Harvard-Westlake | 2022 State CA-S (Harvard-Westlake)
2022, F, 6-foot-7, 215 pounds
Joel’s Take: Lewis is a long-armed 5/4 who put together some nice moments against one of the best teams in the Southern Section. He has a nice touch from the perimeter and can face-up and attack the rim—one of which ended with a ferocious dunk. He showed his feel for the game with his passing and he was solid on the glass with 5-rebounds.
